Stayed here with 4 others on the night of the 5th of April, 2022. While the hotel is amongst the better places to stay in Guruvayur, it is (like other hotels in that town) overpriced. It's room rates are not inclusive of breakfast. The location is ideal if you're in town to visit the temple. It is between the North and East Nadas. From the windows at the end of the corridor, you can see the temple kolam (pond). The hotel is reasonably clean. I can't complain about the hygiene. The rooms are sufficient though not particularly pleasant. The two chairs in one of our rooms had backrests so erect that they were virtually unusable. The beds are comfortable and the toilets are clean, if not luxurious. While we aren't particular about air-conditioning, those in need of the cold might find the ACs insufficient. There is enough storage space - closets, etc. There was, in our room, only one plug point though! (It is possible that I didn't notice another hidden somewhere.) The staff is mostly helpful and courteous, although some are not entirely competent. For instance, we asked for a ”one-by-two” lime juice. The waiter seemed perplexed by this request. He then checked with his superior, and returned to tell us that this would not be possible. We then asked for a lime juice with an extra glass, and he had no problem servicing that request. The waiters sometimes have difficulty getting orders right. The food itself is hit or miss. The afternoon sadhya is very good. We did, however, order a bhindi fry for dinner. The description of the dish was only partly correct in as much as the bhindi came to the table almost completely raw. It showed no symptoms of either being cooked or fried. The hotel was kind enough not to bill us for that dish. Dosas in general seemed to be good. Sambar too. The white chutney had a little more water than you'd like. The tea and coffee are mediocre. Overall, overpriced, no red flags, but not entirely pleasant.
