This accommodation was really great! It was super clean and cozy, and I stayed for 4 nights and 5 days without any major inconveniences. JR Teradacho Station is a 3-minute walk away, there's a big 7-Eleven right across the street, and Lawson and FamilyMart are also nearby, which was convenient. I was a bit worried about how to contact someone if there were issues since it's self-check-in, but everything was so good that I didn't need to ask for anything, which is why I'm writing this review! There were times when motorbike noises were a bit loud at night, but it was relatively quiet. Plus, there's a local tonkatsu restaurant right next to the accommodation, which was the best. If I come to Osaka again, I will definitely revisit!^^

The accommodation is quite close to the station, and it was great that I could walk to places like Dotonbori. The place was clean, and even though it's unmanned, their response was quick and good! If I go to Osaka again, I'd definitely stay here.

Compared to places back home, it's definitely on the smaller side, but for Japan, the size is actually quite acceptable. It wasn't as cramped or dated as I'd imagined. With the lights on, it felt quite cozy, and the window provided good natural light. My only minor gripes were the lack of complimentary water and that housekeeping only came every three days. On the plus side, there's a 7-Eleven nearby, which is super convenient, and it's also very close to Tenkachaya Station. The neighborhood is residential and felt very safe, completely unlike what some online comments suggest about the 'western district' being full of homeless people; even at 9 or 10 PM, there were no drunks or homeless individuals around. Luggage storage is under camera surveillance with no staff supervision, which initially made me a little worried, but my bags were perfectly safe after half a day. All in all, it's very affordable and offers excellent value for money. 🫶

I stayed at Katsu Hotel Shinimamiya for two nights (Feb 25-27) and overall, it was a very satisfying and high-value-for-money experience. The hotel's location in the Shinimamiya area is incredibly convenient; it's within walking distance to the station, making it easy to get to Namba, Shinsaibashi, or take the train to other attractions. For independent travelers, this location truly saves a lot of time and energy, and it felt safe returning to the hotel at night. The check-in process was quick and easy, and the front desk staff were friendly and polite. I was pleasantly surprised and relieved to find that they offered Chinese language service. For travelers who might occasionally worry about language barriers, being able to communicate in Chinese is a huge plus and made the overall check-in experience much smoother and more natural. Although the room wasn't huge, the space was well-planned, leaving enough room to move around even with luggage open. The entire environment was clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable; I slept very well both nights. The room amenities were complete, Wi-Fi was stable and fast, and the bathroom was kept very clean with ample hot water and stable water pressure – very important for travelers wanting a good hot shower after a long day of sightseeing. The soundproofing was also quite good, making for a quiet and peaceful night's rest. The hotel offers free luggage storage, which is a thoughtful and helpful service. On check-out day, I had more plans, so being able to store my luggage and pick it up later in the evening made my itinerary much more flexible. The surrounding area also has excellent amenities, with convenience stores and dining options nearby, making it very easy to find food. Overall, this is a reasonably priced hotel with an excellent location and friendly service. While it's not a luxury hotel, the quality for its price point is exceptional, especially suitable for independent travelers or short stays. Both nights were smooth and comfortable, and I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Osaka and would recommend it to friends.

The room was small but pretty clean. The only downside was no bathtub, which felt a bit strange for a trip to Japan! The soundproofing wasn't great – I could hear the subway and noises from the next room, so light sleepers should be aware. However, the bed and pillows were really comfortable! The location was excellent, less than a 10-minute walk straight to the subway, and there's a large supermarket right across the street.

Pros: 1. Room and toilet is clean and amenities are provided. Will not provide picture of the rooms as is exactly like in the picture. 2. Soundproof was actually good as there is a small balcony overseeing train station and I like the view of it. 3. Walking distance, approx 10 mins or more depending on your walking speed to Tsutentaku, Shinsekai or Donki. 4. I highly would like to say “Arigato” and praise the host for responding to all my questions before checking in and during my check-in progress (when I encounter issue). They respond to all my queries on time. 5. The train station located nearby has JR, Metro or Nankai lines, which can bring you directly to Minoh-Kayano Station, Tennoji, Namba, Umeda, Osaka or Kansai Airport. A proper planning is require to take your require train. Cons: 1. We have 2 medium and 1 small luggages and barely can open full 2 medium luggage despite having a closet. 1 small luggage can be open fully in the middle between the 2 beds but it will block the walking to the balcony (if require to go there). 2. The kitchen and toilet area, gets quite cold during the night and the heater cannot reach that area. Not sure if the floor has a warmer. 3. Despite there is a train station nearby, still require to walk approx. 8 mins above depending on your walking speed. If you are coming with JR train, there were no lift or escalator at the nearby exit to the stay. We had to carry all the luggages down till the exit. However, if you are taking Nankai lines to the airport, then no issue with the luggage as there are 1 lift operating at the nearby entrance. 4. The road at night gets quite lonely and scary if you are walking alone but I believe is alright in Japan. 5. No eateries/restaurants and convenience mart within the 5 mins walk. Overall, I enjoy my stay here and I always stay at this area during my travel to Osaka due to lesser crowd and convenience to reach airport. One thing to note, do complete all the pre-registration that the host has email you in order for a smooth check-in. Again, I would like to thank the host for the great hospitality and responding to my queries.

The newly opened hotel was very clean and comfortable! The rooms were tidy and fully equipped, and there was even a washing machine in the room so I could do laundry anytime, which made me feel very secure. Although it's a self-service hotel, the check-in instructions I received via email beforehand indicated that there were staff at the counter, and the check-in process was very smooth. There was also a self-service coffee and tea bar in the lobby on the first floor, so I could drink as much as I wanted! I sent emails with any questions and received quick replies, which was reassuring. The location was also very convenient, right next to the Nipponbashi Shopping Street, making shopping very easy. There were convenience stores and restaurants nearby, perfect for sightseeing. Overall, it was great value for money, and I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Osaka!

The self check-in and check-out process was quite cumbersome, almost like solving a puzzle, which might appeal to introverts. It's about a fifteen-minute walk from Rinku Town Station, in a quiet area that's a bit desolate, but thankfully there's a convenience store right downstairs.

The hotel is conveniently located near the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line (purple line), Miyakojima Station, but it might be a little far from the city center. If you don't mind, it's not a problem as the Osaka Metro connects everywhere. The hotel has self-check-in and check-out, which is great – no need to talk to staff! 555 I recommend leaving before 10 am, otherwise you'll find the housekeeper trying to clean. I told them I'd be leaving in an hour, but they kept trying to clean (maybe because they didn't understand English). In short, I left my towel, cup, and a note asking for extra green tea on the door. After that, the housekeeper didn't bother me anymore; they just hung my things on the door instead. It was a good introduction, great! Overall, the price is good, it's clean, and the minimalist room is small, but fine. I was just there to sleep, so I left at 6 pm and came back at 11 pm – no big deal! 😘 I was too busy sightseeing to take any hotel review photos, sorry everyone!

GGuest UserOverall, the accommodation was very clean, comfortable, and had a great atmosphere. The location was excellent and very convenient. The room was quite spacious, making it perfect for staying with family or friends. I especially liked that there was a washing machine in the bathroom, and it even came with laundry detergent—everything we needed was provided. Although the check-out time was 10:00 AM, we requested an extension and they kindly allowed us to stay until 12:00 PM free of charge, which we really appreciated. It was truly a great choice. The place was very cozy, and the bed was large and extremely comfortable.

HHannah R CHotel were offering late checkouts to guests who left 5* reviews, so I feel that the reviews have been artificially inflated by people rating 5* so that they can get late checkout. Location was quite far from the JR Namba station and even further from the metro Namba station. The bed was really hard and uncomfortable. Bathroom was tiny, kitchenette had a raised lip which was easy to trip over or stub your toes on. However, the size of the room was good, there was a good amount of space. It would be ok to spend a night or two here but I think we were there 5 nights which wasn’t great with the uncomfortable bed. When we checked in we were told a room number of an uncleaned room and had to ring out of hours to swap rooms, but that was all resolved quickly by the hotel. Also to note, the keyboxes didn’t feel very safe/ secure because the codes followed a pattern (so if you knew one you’d know the other rooms), but we didn’t use the lockbox except for when we checked in so it didn’t affect us, but just something to consider. Overall it was ok for a budget hotel but I think the reviews make it seem too good to be true!

GGuest UserThe place was ok but had 2 big problems. 1) ‘check in’ is *******!! It asks you to check in before online .. I did this. It also asks for a passport picture which I don’t need because I’m resident.. It should ask that before it asks me for a passport photo.. i But when you get to the hotel it asks you to do the same exact check- in process again!!! Why? very very stupid!! It then asks for information about guest 2… I was a solo traveler… there is no second traveler!! But you can’t skip it or change it!! I had to enter my information twice… very very very stupid and inept.. 2) the room smelled like mildew… very strong stench..

GGuest UserVery impressed: A Wonderful Stay – Exceeded Expectations! We were very impressed with our stay at this hotel in Japan. Although it’s an unmanned, room-only hotel with self check-in starting at 4 PM, our experience went far beyond our expectations. We arrived early with a large amount of luggage—five large suitcases and four smaller bags—and hoped to just drop them off before check-in. Fortunately, we met a hotel worker, who we believe was a housekeeper. She was incredibly kind and helpful. She immediately contacted a hotel staff member and kindly offered to take care of all our luggage, bringing it up to our room after it had been cleaned. She also explained the self check-in procedures and how to access the building, which was very helpful since there are no staff members normally present. We didn’t expect that level of support at all—it was clearly not part of her job, but she helped us willingly and with such a great attitude. We’re very grateful for her kindness. The room itself was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The location was fantastic—close to various train lines (railway, subway, and local), duty-free shops, convenience stores, and many other attractions. Highly recommended! We’d definitely stay here again.

TTwinkleShinesGreat location! easy to access from Kansai airport. Cosy room with nice breakfast spread. It’s a service apartment so there is a washing machine with 2 laundry pods in the room, they do provide toothbrush and hair brush. Helpful staff with hospitality spirit. They do provide parking (chargeable JPY2000 per day) within walking distance. Convenient stores and restaurants are just at doorstep, McDonald is just across the street. Will definitely come back again.

GGuest UserTop location for the price if you are planning Expo 2025 visits - the apartments is 10 mins walk from the station in a quite residential neighborhood and 3 stops away from Yumeshima station where the event is held. Nearby you can find both supermarkets and convenience stores as well as nice local restaurants and cafes, including a not so crowded Kura Sushi. The apartment is tiny and not very convenient if you’re not used to confined spaces, but it’s still functional. The conditioner, washing machine, tv and other appliances were working properly. The bed however wasn’t very comfortable since the mattress was a bit outdated and sagging in the middle. It is also worth keeping in mind that the walls are paper thin and you could hear basically everything your neighbors are doing. And the neighbors probably might hear you too if you are not quite enough. Generally it is a typical low-budget Japanese apartment in a residential neighborhood, which might be a nice experience if you’re coming as a tourist and would like to experience a token of local lifestyle.

GGuest UserIt's about a 10-minute walk from Namba Station. Everything is fine, but there's no separate sink in the bathroom. I had to use the kitchen sink to wash my face, and since there's no mirror there, it was a bit inconvenient. The second morning, the building's alarm rang for a long time, so I was very anxious and scared. I thought there was an earthquake. Fortunately, it was a fire drill, but it could happen again, so it's good to know before you go.
