My stay at Comwell Klarskovgaard from November 29 to December 1, 2023, was an exquisite experience. The hotel's architecture strikes a perfect balance between simplicity and timeless elegance, creating a serene and classy atmosphere. The service was outstanding, with staff showing genuine interest in guest wellbeing, adding a personal touch to the stay. The private beach, nestled quietly in the forest, offered a peaceful escape to nature. The culinary experience was exceptional, featuring both delicious and beautifully presented dishes. The high-quality ingredients and the chef's creativity made each meal a delight. Overall, Comwell Klarskovgaard is a perfect blend of stylish ambiance, excellent service, and a tranquil location, ideal for a relaxing and elegant getaway. Highly recommended for those seeking a peaceful retreat in nature's embrace.
Hotel Vinhuset
3.6/570 Reviews
It is maybe a bit generous giving Hotel Vinhuset a 4 rating, maybe a 3.5 would be more suitable. The building has been operated as a hotel since 1778, and has an interesting history dating back to the 16th century. This hotel has a lot of potential. It is ideally situated in Sct Peders Kirkeplads, surrounded by many other old historic buildings. There are many positive features about this establishment. The location for one, it is not far from the town centre and various local attractions. There is a welcoming dining area from which we were able to choose from a well prepared, varied menu, (typical, delicious Danish fare). The interior is a bit less than what you would expect, it is a Heritage Building. There is a beautiful winding staircase, unfortunately, it is needing a bit of TLC. We stayed on the first floor, here we were greeted by the large painting of ”The Woman”, a bit of an eyepopper. The painting doesn’t match or enhance the surroundings; however, I would say with a smile, please keep it! The staff we had contact with, were also an asset. We would like to pass on our thanks to Gabriella, all the best! There was free parking available, some convenient, some not so. The wifi was free and worked well. The hotel has its charm, we would stay again, but we would only hope that the owners would spruce things up, do justice to this old building. As alluded to, the building inside is getting a bit tired looking and the outside needs a bit of work. (Do note however, things were clean and tidy). The window ledge outside our room was rotting away, and the window itself needed to be ”modernized”. Our room itself was clean and comfortable, the bathroom clean and adequate. That being said, the room, however, was quite dated, the plaster on the walls needed a few repairs, and a new, more modern paint job. The large Lord of the Rings framed poster over the bed also seemed ”out of place”. This is all meant to be constructive criticism, as is noted, the property has a lot of potential. I guess maybe the improvements might raise the cost of staying here, or maybe not. As it was, the rates were not low, but perhaps reasonable when you factor in the delicious breakfast that was included. One last suggestion might also include the installation of a lift, a small one even. One thing that cannot be improved upon however, is the location, Naestved itself and the surrounding area. This is the lovely Danish countryside where my Dad and his family grew up and some are still living. You can visit some of Denmark's old churches, Sct Peders Kirke, located steps away from the Vinhuset, is Naestved's largest church, scarcely altered since 1375. A short distance away is Sct Mortens, dating back to ca. 1280. You can visit Herlufsholm, the site of another old church, and a private boarding school dating back to 1565. A short drive out of town is the estate, Gisselfeld. Here you can tour the beautiful gardens and partake in some local history. If you want a bit of beach

We had a first-class experience staying at this Comwell property thanks to the wonderful staff here - particularly those who worked very late looking after guests at a family party on June 24th. But special praise is due to Simone at reception who cheerfully and efficiently dealt with all manner of requests from ourselves and other people - all the while speaking flawless English for the benefit of non-Danish speakers like my wife and me. So ”thank you” Simone and all your colleagues for making our stay so pleasant. Stay safe and stay well!

Had booked a Superior room w Hotels.com The room ( # 101 ) did not appear to be a Superior Double at all. Bathroom was only set up for 1 person, ( extra towels in the wardrobe cabinet ) and the room was really small, with no coffee maker or water boiler. There was a small table and 2 chairs. Thankfully we didn't travel with luggage except for 1 carry on size case, so we were able top open it. There is a very limited number of TV channels. Surely not what I'd call a 'superior' room. It appeared to be a very regular standard room. The phone doesn't have any instructions on how to reach the reception. Breakfast was nice, rather nice actually.

I had booked a single room an that was what I got. But I had been looking forward to a couple of days on my own and from the photos on their website it looked as if there was a balcony to each room and a view towards the lakes. My room had a single bed, no balcony and a view to the parking lot. Not that I could complain, after all I did book that single room - which wasn't cheap - but I was disappointed and told the reception so. I also asked if I could upgrade myself for an additional payment. The sweet receptionist - Natasja - looked into the matter with a smile and confirmed my upgrade. I spent 3 wonderful days exploring Maribo and reading my book on the balcony. The view is astonishing. Later I learned that Natasja did not charge me for the upgrade for which I'm grateful although I would gladly have paid. She totally went that extra mile with a great attitude.

I was hesitant to come to a hotel chain and to a property I am not familiar with. At the end, my stay exceeded my expectations. Everything was wonderful, the staff was very efficient, professional but at the same time friendly. The hotel felt chic but not pretentious. A hard to achive balance. Breakfast is superb. The quality deserves 6 out of 5! The only negative during my stay is that there was no espresso in breakfast, and ordering espresso is an extra charge. It absolutely does not make sense. There are even bitters like Jagermeisters etc on the offer in the breakfast, but on the other hand there is no espresso ! Senseless. But everything else was great. Also, in the room there was a nice Nespresso machine but a kettle will be a good addition. But overall this is a special property.

It is as clean as it has been remodeled. Breakfast is very simple, but you can have breakfast and boil eggs in your own way It's nice to open the windows, there is a hairdryer here The furniture is old but the bed is very comfortable. The air is good, the countryside is very comfortable, Copenhagen is too expensive, nothing is better than other hotels.
