Really clean and tidy room and we had the best night sleep on the comfiest bed. Plenty of tea and coffee. Really friendly and helpful staff. Location was at the Center of Chester which made everything easier to get too. It was right by the shops and loads of places to eat. Self service breakfast with plenty of choice enjoyed everything and hope to visit again.

Title: Alderley Edge Hotel: Victorian Elegance Meets Modern Comfort in Cheshire Review: Nestled in the heart of Cheshire, Alderley Edge Hotel offers a charming blend of Victorian heritage and contemporary luxury. Originally a grand 19th-century villa, the hotel has been thoughtfully transformed into a stylish 50-room retreat, maintaining its historic character while providing modern amenities. Location & Ambience: Situated just off Alderley Edge’s bustling high street, the hotel is perfectly positioned for guests to explore the village’s trendy boutiques, restaurants, and bars. The nearby sandstone ridge, known as “The Edge,” offers scenic woodland walks and panoramic views, adding to the area’s allure. Accommodation: Guests have praised the hotel for its cleanliness and comfort. Rooms are well-appointed, featuring modern furnishings and amenities such as Temple Spa toiletries, free Wi-Fi, and tea and coffee facilities. While some guests have noted that certain rooms can be on the smaller side, the overall comfort and ambiance receive high marks. Dining Experience: The hotel’s restaurant, set within a rebuilt conservatory, offers a bright and airy dining space. Guests have highlighted the quality of the food, particularly the grilled fish dishes and Sunday roasts. The bar and outdoor garden seating provide additional spaces to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Service & Facilities: The staff at Alderley Edge Hotel are frequently commended for their friendliness and professionalism, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. Facilities include free parking with electric charging stations, pet-friendly accommodations (with an additional charge), and well-maintained gardens. However, it’s worth noting that the hotel does not have leisure facilities or a gym. Guest Feedback: Overall, guests have expressed satisfaction with their stays, citing the hotel’s cleanliness, location, and service as standout features. Some have mentioned minor issues such as thin walls leading to noise disturbances and occasional maintenance concerns in the bathrooms. Despite these, the consensus remains positive, with many guests indicating a desire to return. Conclusion: Alderley Edge Hotel successfully marries historical charm with modern comforts, making it a delightful choice for travelers seeking a serene yet convenient base in Cheshire. Whether you’re exploring the local countryside or indulging in the village’s vibrant scene, this hotel offers a memorable and comfortable stay.

We enjoyed our stay at the Crabwall Manor Hotel and Spa. The hotel was very comfortable and the staff was very welcoming especially at reception.  Our room was very suitable for a person with disabilities being on the floor and having a walk-in shower. We look forward to returning next  year.

Best thing I can say is I wish we had stayed more than one night! Lovely friendly staff and good breakfast. Complimentary pool, sauna, steam room and hot tub very welcome. Great location near centre and station. We walked from the latter with luggage in 8 mins. Bar with seating outside overlooking the canal. Only downside is no aircon in room and with the current hot weather the fan was not up to the job.

Booked a 3 night stay at Queen Hotel in Chester and it didn't disappoint. Beautiful decor throughout the hotel and the room was perfect. Didnt dine at the restaurant but ordered 2 bar meals which the food was plentiful and delicious with an excellent choice. Room service was excellent too as we ordered drinks to the room and also some sandwiches and soup. The breakfast was excellent too. All staff I spoke with were courteous and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I will certainly be booking this hotel again for my next visit to Chester.

Booked a privilege room. Checked in and as man on reception saw I was on crutches he changed room from 1st floor to ground, which was thoughtful. Did explain not a problem but he’d already done it. We were given room 120. Main reason for booking was to use the pool to help my recovery from broken ankle. Robes and slippers in room and short walk to pool building. Pool nice shape and reasonable size. Fairly busy but not overly. Jacuzzi nice and it had a sauna and steam room although we didn’t use those. Pool area bit dated but didn’t affect use and pool attendant checked water while we were in it. Room ok. Nespresso small pod type machine and kettle in room. TV could connect to your phone for apps like Netflix etc - that was fiddly. Bathroom ok with toiletries provided and extras such as cotton buds and toothbrushes etc nice touch. Unfortunately no rail in bath wall, just two little rails on actual bath, which although not an accessibility room, we would have thought would be the norm to have, so getting out of bath after shower was tricky. Unfortunately there was an awful smell which we only noticed when went to bed as we think was the carpet. Was late to put up with it and told reception on check out. Not pleasant at all. We went to the bar area and had a sharing platter. Nice but the pork belly bites were very spicy! Breakfast was ok but they were not good at stocking the hot food up and several people were waiting a few times. This was 9:30am so not right at the end of service. Only saw two staff members so maybe this was an issue.. although the man ‘topped up’ the pastries by bringing out a big plate with just 2 pain au chocolate on 🤷🏼♀️ Breakfast was tasty what there was but the service was poor which let it down. Overall the hotel has potential, but don’t think would stay again (not in room 120 anyway unless they sort the carpet out).

For a normal size breakfast you had to pay extra, the heating was broken in the spa so it was quite cold. The hotel did look a bit tatty in places. Service was lacking, always had to chase the staff members. Lovely building and good location.

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel, and our choice was primarily due to its convenient location and excellent breakfast. It is very close to the airport and very quiet at night, surrounded by farms and grassland. We love the breakfast because it is not a typical buffet. Instead, you can choose from a menu with a great variety of options, all of which taste wonderful. The restaurant's decoration is also lovely, and you will be more than satisfied with the portions. The restaurant staff are passionate, friendly, and helpful. One point to note is that the reception area often has guests around, which is just an observation and neither positive nor negative. The receptionists always do their best and are very nice and professional. However, the room design is a bit outdated.

Oddfellows Chester Hotel & Apartments

Checking in at the main Oddfellows hotel was smooth but it would have helped to have the exact address of the apartment in advance, so we could park more easily. There is one parking space at the apartment but it is a tight entrance! Apartment 5 was upstairs and very spacious. The lounge/kitchen/diner was well set up and the tea and coffee available was very welcome. Bedrooms and bathrooms were large, comfy and clean (but could do with a few hooks for towels or coats). There is even a laundry room. Decof is quirky and the location is great - just off the main streets. Fabulous place to stay.

Handy location for travel to North Wales and an easy drive to Chester. Hotel rooms are dated. We only had one bedside cabinet and lamp in a double room. The wardrobe door was in danger of falling off. Room looked out onto another part of the building. A storeroom or something. No window in en suite. Felt a bit claustrophobic. Breakfast was of limited choice but adequate. The public areas and pool facilities were clean. The staff were friendly and helpful.
