my wife and I had a very enjoyable weekend break at Ropewalks. the hotel was centrally located, which suited us as we were away without kids and wanted to make the most of that. breakfast was your standard fare, but there was a chef cooking to order. the service staff at breakfast were excellent. would recommend for a boozy city break. thr hotel is neat to a lot of late bars and night clubs which was noisy and may be an issue for some travelers.

Lovely iconic hotel. A pleasure to be a.guest.
Lovely breakfast in a beautiful eating area l. I felt very grand.
They do need to have more people on the check in fast track queue as I walk with a crutch and I couldn't stand up to wait.
It took about 15 minutes to 20 mins to check in which I couldn't do because of my mobility issues but other than that a very pleasant stay😊
Has an amazing stay at this hotel , food was amazing and singer was great last night. I’m a support worker , staff went the extra mile to look after the gent I brought away. We will defo be returning

When we arrived, we noticed we had been given a far inferior room than we've ever had before. The view was terrible. There was no fridge which we have always had before and the room looked 'tired'...in need of TLC.
I went to reception to tell them I was not happy. Anyway they did sort it. Gave us another room with a better view and the young girl on reception brought us an old, but working mini fridge.. so it worked out OK in the end ( I need a fridge to put some of my medication in.) Another lady on the desk was very curt when I said there was no fridge and stated....not all rooms automatically have a fridge in them. Sorry but I thought they did.
Whoever makes loose leaf tea in the restaurant needs to learn it is 1 tsp of tea per person and 1 for the pot. In this case 3tsp of tea and not half a teapot full. I kid you not. See pic below. We got a refund for some of the tea, but nit for the cream tea my friend had. My friend had ordered a cream tea and me, just a tea. Yet they brought a pot of tea for 2, which is the wrong etiquette for an order like this. Hence we only got 2 cups out of it, because of the amount of loose tea in there.
I think I have been spoiled by the superior standard of the rooms, when we have stayed before....I just presumed all their rooms would be like this

We loved this hotel and would definitely stay again. Fantastic location and the room was large, clean and had everything we needed. The bedroom had ambient lighting which was nice until you need to put make up on. It lacked lighting and a mirror for getting ready.
When we arrived at 3 we were told the room wasn’t ready. We, along with several other families had to wait half an hour. It would have been a good idea to offer drinks while we waited.
Breakfast was good and plenty of choice.

Next time I'm in Liverpool, I won't be booking this hotel again. The breakfast was basic, there's no gym, and the rooms are a bit run-down. I was thirsty and asked for a couple more bottles of water, but the front desk just told me to go downstairs to the back, 'heh.' Everyone, save yourself the trouble – walk a bit further or grab a taxi and pick a different hotel. Don't bother staying here just because it's right in front of the train station.

Well having just got back from the fabulous Liverpool city, and it’s lovely people and culture plus ,staying at the Liner which ,made our two day stay the icing on the cake. This Hotel is probably the best I’ve ever stayed in. Anyone who complains about this hotel as got a problem. They say nothing is perfect but I can verify ,It’s perfect. The reception staff go above and beyond with their professional conduct. The rooms are absolutely beautiful ,warm, spacious and spotlessly immaculate. We paid for all you can eat breakfast ,of which I can say…. is perfect . It’s in a perfect location, right next to the train station and Wetherspoons .The centre is only down the road, where there are plenty of bars and shops and restaurants, plus of course, the square where there is the Liverpool gift shop .What more can I say but PERFECT

Very Good
AAbishaOn arrival, the receptionist was pleasant. No issues directing me to my room. However, once in the room, when trying to open the window, the top handle broke off in my hand. The cold water for the sink was not working, so I had to use a shower for cold water. There were also stains in the pillow. The TV had no service, and although I informed the receptionist but nothing was done. I was advised that they would inform the manager.
Overall, for a night stay, it was ok, but I will not be staying here again.
GGuest UserFantastic location beautifully clean have stayed here b3fore totaly changed in respect of more of a party hotel they have got rid of a great deal of the football memorabilia more like a boutique hotel .some parts of hotel is looking tired .our room was good i would suggest a few little things I had no where to sit and put my make up on and couldn't see in bathroom mirror as had to lean over sink on my tip toes also trying to plug kettle in finding a socket that's not on the floor .Just a few little tweeks

GGuest UserService was great. We were asked where we would like room. Picked upper floor away from lift. Great nights sleep, shower excellent. Only thing that didn't live up to the rest was the breakfast. It was very busy and it wasn't the best - filled a hole but nothing to write home about. Would definitely stay again
GGuest UserWe stayed here the night before creamfeilds I will start with the good points .. Staff 10/10 so helpful and very good customer services skills.. cleanliness was top notch, the breakfast was plentiful, the mattress in the bed room was actually one of the most comfortable hotel mattresses I have stayed on and I was thinking we would get a lovely nights rest before our festival but on to the bad points. we had the worst nights sleep of our lives our room was facing the road. Now this road is busy throughout the whole of the night. It is non stop, you can hear every car, every lorry, every motor bike, every horn every engine zooming past all throughout the whole night ! We barely slept a wink !! We was shattered the next day. We told the staff the manager said to go through the app we booked on and we can get 20% back as they would of gave us a free breakfast for our trouble but we had already bought one . The manager and receptionist were so lovely. They do know this is an issue and have been trying to get something implemented from the company to resolve this issue as it’s not just us who have complained about this .. and unfortunately I would not stay here again until the issue is resolved and they got the triple glazing windows to reduce noise otherwise I would much rather book another hotel without the noise issues so I could get a good nights rest ..
JJanieLizNegative points from our stay
I travelled with my 11 year old grandson, I booked us a twin room, which we got. Unfortunately, the room was an adjoining room to a double and the ”activity” noises from the other room were so bad that we checked out at 11pm as I didn't want my grandson to have to experience that. It literally sounded like they were in the room with us. I would perhaps suggest that in the future you look at your guest list and unless adjoining rooms are with the same party, where children are in a twin, look to accommodate the couple in another part of the hotel where possible.
I was disappointed that we were expected to pay £5 each to use the pool as I have never stayed at an hotel where it is not included in the room price.
Positive
All the staff were really friendly and helped as much as they could. The night Duty Manager was especially helpful and empathetic to my room dilemma but was unable to find us an alternative twin room, only a double which was not appropriate for us.
We ate in the bar and the food was exceptional although a little pricey.
The location was good and the hotel was easy to find. Be careful when you leave as there are two speed bumps on the exit, and no matter how slow you are going, it feels and sounds like your cars insides are dropping out.
Rooms were spotless and beds very comfortable.

GGuest UserI really enjoyed my 3-night stay here - the breakfast was excellent with a good mix of English Breakfast, pastries, fruit and beverages. The room was big and quiet, I could even see Anfield Stadium from my window. The staff were very friendly too (shout-out to Bridget!) and loaned me an umbrella on a rainy day.
There is also a nice work area on the first floor and even a pod if you need to take Zoom calls. A small drawback is that the hotel is about a 15 - 20 minute walk from Euston Station and the Liverpool City Centre but it honestly wasn't too far once I got used to it.
