Beautiful location idyllic .we stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful relaxing time .
Perfect chill out place and saw some amazing sunsets .
Staff are friendly and helpful .
Great swimming pool and accompanying music .maybe more parasols /shade around the pool would be good but plenty of sun beds and parasols to relax near the edge of the sea and overlooking the sea from the hotel
Beach is beautiful .large stones you need to clamber over to get in but there are coloured sandbags to guide you and it’s worth the effort !!
Small bar and restaurant bit pricey but what you expect from a hotel restaurant I guess .and in resorts generally .food is good
Breakfast is ok could be better for the price although you can order additional items such as eggs omelettes. Pancakes s at extra cost
In the town .Itself 5 minutes walk there is a supermarket and a number of places to eat , may be with booking at busy times .
Club ipomea is great place to relax with the family .I hope to definitely return one day .

We were nervous to book here based on the mix reviews. Especially this being the only 3 star hotel we booked throughout our trip however, it had the most comfiest bed out of all our stays in Italy. The only downfall to the excellent location is the parking as it is difficult to find at busy times. However, the payable option is almost always available on the blue line side. Breakfast was okay not a whole ton of options. Everything was clean to standard except for the shower… we wore sandals due to the black mold in the corners of the shower. Not to make excuses, but I find this common in a lot of Italy’s hotels as you need to take into consideration of how old most of these places are. Overall, it was a pretty good stay since most of the time you are out and about exploring.

The resort is extremely well maintained and clean. However if you got to breakfast later say 9am the food was depleted.
The staff were nice but a matter of fact and some of the hotel policies like you must wear a swimming cap were ignored by all of the other guests.
The pool was amazing and clean and couldn’t fault it at all.
The food at dinner time was good but inconsistent in serving sizes particularly if you ordered the same thing the following day.
I think this is a nice resort but expensive for what you get.
The last thing I would say is that the entrance to the beach is not easy given that there are huge boulders in place and we found that we would walk through other hotel properties when we wanted a dip.

It was a very pleasant stay in this old monastery that was transformed into a hotel. There are only about 12 rooms and the Standard room is quite small but with a comfortable bed and very nice smell. The property has a stunning multi layered garden and a beautiful infinity pool woth views onto Tropea. Tropea is within walking distance from the hotel but about 12min away.
Everything was great but personally the breakfast was quite simple and selection is limited. I'm not a big breakfast eater but just wanted to highlight it as some people value a 5 star breakfast buffet.
Staff is very friendly and helpful and overall the property is very well kept in shape. Definitely the best address in this area.

Although slightly out of the city center, the hotel is very well located near a train / metro station, which allows you to easily reach the other part of the city and the suburbs. All staff members we communicated with showed excellent attitude, were helpful, smiling and friendly. Our Deluxe room was of a reasonable size, perfectly clean, offered a Sea view, which can better be described as ”you can see some water behind the roof of the neighbouring building”, but it was nice anyway. The restaurant upstairs also lived up to expectations, with a better Sea view from the top and great meals. We enjoyed breakfast, too.
Highly recommended, will return if we go in the region again.

PlushsuckleOur host was really excellent at communicating both before and during our stay. Directions to the property and for self-check-in were straightforward and our host gave us some very useful suggestions of what to visit and where to eat. The property was no more than a 10 minute walk from the train station, the castle was practically on the doorstep, and the picturesque promenade was also just a 10 minute walk. The small kitchen area had pre-packaged pastries and there was also juice and coffee pods. This is the first property of 12 in Italy on our interrailing trip to have a kettle 🙂 We British always travel with tea bags 🤣 The bed was very comfortable and roomy.

It's an excellent location for those landing late at the Reggio di Calabria airport . Check in was very self-explanatory , two codes is what gets you in - one for the front door and one for the room key box. The location is on the main street so very easy to find. Giovanni was very kind in absorbing our tourist tax as we had no change to pay same. The bus stop for the line that gets you into the city centre and the train station is a stone throw from the front door. Nothing was lacking or amiss , the only slight drawback is that for people with reduced mobility, if using a crutch or the like , it's very steep flights of stairs.

Guest UserFantastic family runs hotel ! We arrived really late at night and Roberto the manager waited for us and helped with the luggage’s, then at morning he took time to explains every delicious dish from the breakfast (mostly homemade) and all products are local from the village nearby / or the region. We also got recommendations for where to go since we came here to do an Calabrian roadtrip ^.^ Nothing negative to say except that we are only sad that we couldn’t stay longer to enjoy the area around and try more of the hotel’s restaurant food !! The room is spacious and very clean, an memorable short stay. 100% recommend

We had the most wonderful time staying at Rocca della Sena. The view from the terrace was incredible and was such a lovely place to be able to sit during sunset. Breakfast was very good and there were lots of options to choose from, including fresh nduja which is local to the area. The staff were probably the best part of the stay, though. They were so kind and generous with their time, always asking if they could provide recommendations for dinner or activities in the area, and made us feel so welcome. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Tropea. We honestly have no negative feedback to provide!

The hotel was very nice! The room we had was spacious, and the AC worked very well! The bathroom was nice, and the shower was quite large!
We ordered room service and the food arrived quick, and it was delicious! The breakfast was also fantastic, and had plenty of options for anyone!
The price was also very reasonable! Especially for the amenities and the cleanliness. You are also a 5 minute drive from a shopping center, that also has a food court. I highly recommend recommend this place for anyone making a trip to or through Calabria. Well worth the money!
