A traditional Japanese hotspring resort with excellent view and great breakfast. Staff are polite and friendly. The public hotspring has a wonderful view.
Location of the hotel is quite alright. Walking distance from Sapporo JR station less than a km. If you have heavy luggage then it would be an adventure rolling the bags along the sidewalk.
- if convenient is your ultimate goal, booked hotels near or opposite of the station.
- and if you want to book the hotel, it is quite a walking distance to the nearest station (non-JR).
- (bonus tip) have a go at their Japanese breakfast (22nd floor), it’s worth it. + view of Sapporo.
- it is an old hotel, the toilet can be a little on the smelly side. But if your preference is to stay longer, the price was not too bad for a 4 stars.
- since it’s autumn nearing to winter, better to use Go taxi to get to all the attractions areas, if you are not used to the windy chill.
Beautiful hotel with a moor onsen spa and sauna. However it is a 15-min walk from the station and shuttle service is limited. Lots of weddings and royal visit at this resort. Twin Room is spacious and comfortable. Walking distance to M fast food chain next door and Aeon shopping nearby. I would highly recommend it.

Located near Nakajima Koen Station (Exit 3). Overall, it’s decent. There’s an escalator from the subway exit, which is convenient. The hotel is right next to Nakajima Park, great for taking walks, and there’s a Family Mart across the street.
However, there’s no coin laundry, and no amenities such as facial cleanser provided. The air conditioning system is centralized, so the room temperature cannot be adjusted individually. The only way to make it cooler is to call the staff to open the window — but even when opened slightly, it makes the room too cold.
As for service, staff attitude and hospitality were below average for Japan, both at the front desk and the staff who came to open the window. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m a foreigner, but their facial expressions and manner felt less welcoming than usual.
I’d rate it 3/5.
If you can find another hotel near the station for a similar price, choose somewhere else.
The location is excellent. From Hakodate Airport, it's only four bus stops to the JR station, and the hotel is right across the street. It's super convenient to take the JR from here to all the attractions. I booked two nights and the high-floor room offered fantastic views, allowing us to watch the fireworks every night at 6 PM during Christmas. Downstairs, there's a Daikoku drug store where you get 20% off if you spend over 10,000 yen, which felt like a good deal. For breakfast, you can head to the morning market across the street; the seafood is incredibly fresh, and the cantaloupe is absolutely delicious! If I ever come back to Hakodate, this would still be my top choice for accommodation.
Excellent hotel. The rooftop infinity pool, hot spring, terrace bath, sea breeze, and Hakodate night view were incredibly relaxing. I used the baths both in the evening and in the morning. There's a scenic bar lounge that offers coffee. The room had a private washer/dryer and a microwave. The breakfast offered was great value, allowing you to choose a restaurant at the adjacent seafood market. However, I didn't opt for it because I wanted to try catching squid and grilling it, and also having crab shabu-shabu – this morning market is truly the best for seafood. Disposable slippers were provided, which many Japanese hotels don't offer.
Staying at Dai‑ichi Takimotokan was an unforgettable highlight of my trip. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere felt welcoming and serene, perfectly blending traditional Japanese hospitality with modern comfort. The onsen facilities were truly exceptional—spacious, beautifully maintained, and offering a variety of baths with different temperatures and mineral compositions. Soaking while gazing out at the natural surroundings created a sense of deep relaxation that stayed with me long after.
The staff were attentive and warm, always ready to assist with a smile, yet never intrusive. Their thoughtful service made the experience feel personal and genuine. My room was comfortable and well‑appointed, with a calming view that added to the overall sense of retreat. Meals were another highlight: beautifully presented dishes showcasing fresh local ingredients, each course balancing flavor and artistry.
What impressed me most was how the entire property seemed designed to encourage rest and renewal. Whether enjoying the baths, savoring dinner, or simply unwinding in the lounge, I felt completely at ease. Dai‑ichi Takimotokan is more than just a place to stay—it’s a destination that embodies the spirit of relaxation and hospitality. I would gladly return and recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone visiting Noboribetsu.
Extremely close to Otaru-Chikko Station, directly accessible via a covered walkway. With an Aeon mall right downstairs, it's incredibly convenient for one-stop shopping and dining. The rooms are quite spacious for Japanese standards, and the facilities are very well-maintained. The mountain view rooms also offer pleasant scenery. Service was decent, and it provides excellent value for money.
Location: Right next to the JR Sapporo Station East Exit, with clear directions leading the way. The front desk is on the 1st floor. The hot spring is on the 22nd floor (2150 JPY extra if not included in the room rate), guest rooms start from the 23rd floor, and the breakfast restaurant is on the 35th floor.
Facilities: The hot spring offers a 41℃ pool, a 37℃ bubbling pool, a mist sauna, a dry sauna, and spa services that can be booked. After your soak, there's a relaxation lounge nearby with free popsicles (the Hokkaido milk flavor is delicious!). Milk is available from 6 PM.
There's no self-service laundry. If you need laundry done, there are bags and a form in the drawer. Fill it out and call the housekeeper for pickup. The multi-functional electronic clock by the bed has two buttons: one for room cleaning and one for 'do not disturb'. Pressing them will light up an indicator outside your door, or you can hang the 'do not disturb' sign from the drawer on the door.
Breakfast was decent; I chose the set meal both days. Rice and miso soup are refillable for free.
The hotel boasts an excellent location, being close to the station and just a 5-minute walk from Hakodate Morning Market, making it incredibly convenient. The hotel breakfast is very generous and varied; I highly recommend choosing a package that includes breakfast. The overall experience was fantastic. Highly recommended.

AAnonymous UserI love the Courtyard by Marriott Sapporo; it's a peaceful oasis in a lively area, and everything about it was excellent. It's just a 15-minute walk to Tanukikoji shopping street, making the daily round trip a pleasant stroll. The breakfast spread was generous and offered a wide variety of choices. My son is young but quite tall for his age, and he sometimes worries about being questioned about his age; here, they thoughtfully provided children's meal cards. Our suite was incredibly spacious, and having two separate bathrooms was incredibly convenient. The overall decor was also lovely. We consistently opt for eco-friendly practices by not requesting frequent linen changes at hotels worldwide, and here, they even offered afternoon tea and snacks as an extra incentive for doing so.
AAilikexuMy mom and I recently stayed at La Vista Hakodate Bay and were absolutely delighted! The hotel's location is fantastic, very close to the Red Brick Warehouses and the waterfront, offering beautiful night views. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was so soft we slept wonderfully. The breakfast was the biggest surprise – a wide variety of options, and the seafood rice bowl was incredibly delicious! The staff were all very friendly and made sure we had a very pleasant stay. The rooftop onsen was also amazing; we could enjoy the night scenery while soaking in the hot spring. My mom loved it, and we'll definitely stay here again next time we visit Hakodate!
MM11177****This was the hotel I was most looking forward to on my Hokkaido trip. The hotel offers a very convenient shuttle service. We booked a private onsen room, which was very spacious and even came with a massage chair. The kids had a blast playing in the room while the adults were glued to the massage chair! Soaking in the hot spring while watching the snowy scenery is definitely one of life's greatest pleasures, and the views of Lake Shikotsu are also stunning. We had so much fun playing in the snow. The roasted marshmallows in the hotel lobby every night were a big hit with the kids, and the desserts at the hotel were exquisite and delicious. Plus, there was a special main course prepared for children at dinner every day. There are also some nice little shops nearby with great food; the owner of the grilled fish restaurant even lent us a skateboard to play with!
MM1377****Let's start with the room:
The room was incredibly cramped, like a shoebox. There was absolutely no space for a large suitcase, and anyone weighing over 80kg would find it difficult to even turn around. This was completely inconsistent with the 20.9 square meters advertised on Ctrip.
Regarding the hotel's price:
I paid a price that could afford a stay at a Banyan Tree resort in China, but what I got felt more like a school dormitory. The standard was far below 3-star, akin to a budget motel. I booked a twin room, only to be informed it was for single occupancy. To add a 15-year-old child, they demanded an absurd extra charge of 16,300 JPY – a complete rip-off! There are many other hotel options available right outside Hakodate Station. This place is genuinely a scam. The front desk staff were also unprofessional; they even tried to overcharge us for breakfast.
Finally, the facilities:
Bottled drinking water was not provided in the room. Guests had to take a communal carafe to another floor to get water. There was a dryer available, but it was pay-per-use and didn't seem cheap.
In summary, I will absolutely never stay here again when visiting Hakodate, nor would I recommend it to other Chinese travelers.
::))My first visit to Otaru was truly unforgettable, all thanks to my experience at this wonderful hotel!
Located just a pleasant 20-minute drive from Otaru Station, the hotel is nestled in a tranquil, private area that feels like stepping into a captivating wonderland. I was delighted to discover a bus stop right across from the hotel, making it effortlessly convenient to explore the surroundings.
From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us warmly by name, and they were incredibly helpful with our luggage. Taking off our shoes upon entering the hotel created a feeling of comfort and cleanliness that made us feel right at home. After a smooth check-in process, during which they confirmed our breakfast time, the staff graciously guided us through the hotel, sharing helpful information about opening hours for various amenities.
Our room was beautifully adorned in traditional Japanese style, complete with an open-air bath. Enjoying this serene experience during the winter was simply magical! We also savored a delectable Kaiseki dinner in our room, which was not only a feast for our taste buds but also left us delightfully satisfied.
The onsens were a real highlight, featuring an adjacent sauna. With daily alternating access for women and men every other day, we were able to enjoy both during our stay. Families will find this hotel exceptionally accommodating, thanks to its variety of playrooms and relaxation spaces catering to guests of all ages. Plus, the complimentary refreshments and bar in the lobby until 10 PM added a lovely touch to our experience.
Breakfast was a true delight, with a peaceful view of the snow outside the restaurant, enhancing the serene atmosphere.
On our departure day, the hotel thoughtfully arranged a shuttle bus to take us to the JR station, making our exit seamless and convenient.
Looking back, our only regret is that we stayed just one night—I can't wait to return and immerse myself in a different season's beauty. This hotel is now firmly on my list for future visits, and I’m already looking forward to the next adventure!
MM236470****The facilities are quite old, and for the price, there's no lake view, just a street view that's not aesthetically pleasing at all. There are no facilities for families with children. The first floor is full of shops, which feels very commercialized.
Most importantly, there are too many rules, and the staff are inflexible. Check-in time is rigid, they start clearing up before the mealtime is even over, and you have to move your car out of the parking lot by 11:30 AM after check-out. It doesn't feel like they're willing to make any concessions for guests.
GGuest UserImpeccable hotel... The environment, service and dining are all perfect! I felt the sincerity and attitude of the service as soon as I walked in. The hot springs are very comfortable, and my skin is smooth after soaking... The key point is that their SPA... The technique is very good!!! I will definitely come again next time!
GGuest UserBeing a luxury transit hotel, Portom really nailed it. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with such attentive service. Special shout-out to a young lady named Miss 吳, who helped us with check-in and gave us a quick room tour. She was so observant and attentive—even without us asking. You can really feel her sense of ownership and professionalism in the way she handles her job. Soft-spoken, gentle, yet clear and firm in her role. She was so good that I felt I had to write this review for her!
Other than that, the hotel impressed me in so many ways. It’s beautifully designed, with lots of thoughtful details everywhere. I really enjoyed both the software and hardware. I’d definitely come back again, and I’d happily recommend it to others.
This hotel is truly a piece of art. every detail feels so well-thought-out!
SSze Wing JannyThe Windsor Hotel at Toya may boast its status as a premier 5-star luxury destination and its historic role as host of the 2008 G8 Hokkaido Toyako Summit, but our recent stay fell far short of expectations.
Despite the grandeur of the location and its breathtaking views, the service quality was surprisingly poor for a hotel of this caliber. English communication was inconsistent and below the standard expected at an international luxury property. Housekeeping was careless—leaving a used cleaning towel on the bed after daily room service, which is simply unacceptable.
When I drove to the main entrance to pick up my family, I was abruptly asked to leave immediately, even though only a few cars were present. This lack of hospitality was jarring. Additionally, being charged for extra bottled water—something even 3-star hotels offer complimentary—felt petty and out of touch with luxury norms.
The most troubling experience came during checkout. Two of our international credit cards failed to process, and although we successfully paid with a third, the staff’s attitude was unprofessional. We were met with a sour expression and the word “FINALLY” once the transaction went through—an unacceptable remark that left a lasting negative impression.
While the hotel’s setting is undeniably beautiful, the overall service and treatment we received did not reflect the standards of a true 5-star experience. I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve both staff training and guest relations.
EeasondingHad a lovely stay at this hotel in Sapporo. The room was a decent size and came with a couple of thoughtful touches that made the stay more comfortable. One of the highlights was definitely the view—our room overlooked a beautiful park, and since it was sakura season, we were lucky enough to enjoy the cherry blossoms right from our window. It was a truly relaxing and memorable experience.
The TV offered a surprisingly wide variety of channels, which was great for unwinding in the evening. Location-wise, the hotel is conveniently close to Nakajimakoen Station, making it easy to get around the city.
Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay with a perfect mix of convenience, comfort, and seasonal beauty.
