The hotel is atmosphere with a nice blend of the old and new. It is located not too far from Uonuma no Sato and have a complimentary shuttle service to and fro Hatago Isen opposite Echigo Yuzawa Station. The room is big and there is nice heated table area. The bathroom is nice but as with traditional lodgings such as this, it can be pretty cold especially at the bathroom area in winter. Dinner was served in a bento format at our room. I was a little disappointed that it is a not a proper sit-down meal at the main dining area instead. The bento includes two generously sized onigiri, appetizers, and four main items including a meat patty, grilled fish and braised wagyu. The onsen bath is also quite nice and loved the bath with the snowy landscaped garden. Service is generally good and there are snacks and drinks available at the lounge for guests. In the evening, there is also sake and umeshu available for guests.

Everything about the service was top-notch. The food was all delicious, and there was plenty of it to fill you up, with kaiseki cuisine even including sake, and the option to choose one dish from the menu. After 10 PM, they offer a late-night snack called 'yonaki soba' (night-time ramen). It's quantity-limited, so when I went a little before 10 PM, many people were already waiting. The dining area has limited seating, but takeaway was an option, so I ate it in my room. From ice cream after a bath to Yakult in the morning, I was never hungry and felt full the entire time I was at the inn. It was wonderful. The breakfast was also voluminous, and you could have unlimited rice. There's also a private bath. While it doesn't have a showerhead, it's a perfect space to spend time with a loved one. It was available when I went in the evening. Overall, I was surprised by how few Japanese guests there were; most seemed to be Chinese or other Asian guests. I'd like to stay here again when I go skiing.

There is not close to Murakami Station. I contacted the hotel to book the pick-up station. My luggage was heavy. Thanks to the driver of the pick-up service. The hotel is some years old, but the room is very spacious and cleaned up, and the family seems more suitable. The hot spring is very comfortable, and the carp swimming board in the corridor is very interesting. The breakfast dishes are very delicious. The room has a tour map of Libo Hot Spring Street, most places can be reached on foot, the sidewalk is very narrow, you need to pay attention to passing vehicles. Although the sun is very hot, the sunset sea view is really beautiful.

Extremely satisfied! The hotel may be small, but it's full of warmth and personal touches. The staff were always proactively greeting us, asking if we needed a shuttle, and even offered to call a driver for us wherever we went. Even though we only stayed for a short two nights, we'll definitely be back. The open-air bath on the fourth floor was incredibly comfortable and simply amazing. All in all, it's super convenient whether you're heading to Gala Yuzawa ski resort or Echigo-Yuzawa JR station.

If you want true ski in ski out , then I would recommend this hotel. The lifts are just just 50 meters outside the hotel buildings and they lockers for each room to keep your gears, which is very convenient. As for breakfast the spread is acceptable for the price charged. The rooms are rather small and I found some dusts on the furnitures. It would be better if the reception staff can speak better English, I had to go back 3 times because they kept on giving me the wrong room card (they mixed up my father’s room card and mine 3 times!). I appreciated that they offered to give me a fan when I told them the heat was too stuffy. The vending machines are pretty pricey even for water so it’s better to be prepared. Onsen is small and the changing area is often quite wet so don’t expect much. Overall not bad if you want ski in ski out near Tokyo.

Thank you for providing the comfortable hot springs and clean accommodations, allowing us to relax and unwind during our trip. However, our service during this stay fell short of expectations, and we would like to offer some sincere feedback as a reference for your pursuit of excellence. First, it must be acknowledged that the hotel's facilities are indeed commendable. The excellent quality of the hot springs, and the consistently clean and tidy public areas and guest rooms, demonstrate a five-star hotel's commitment to basic quality, which is impressive. However, the core of a true five-star experience lies in the service provided by the ”people,” and this is precisely what we found most regrettable. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we experienced an unexpected ”self-service” atmosphere. We were carrying a lot of ski equipment, making movement quite difficult, yet no porter offered to help us unload our luggage or provide guidance. We had to carry our heavy ski equipment and luggage piece by piece from the vehicle to the luggage cart ourselves; the chaotic process contrasted sharply with the attentive and welcoming service we had expected. After check-in, several attempts to contact the front desk for inquiries were unsuccessful as the phone remained unanswered for extended periods. This communication breakdown inevitably caused anxiety and helplessness at crucial moments. Furthermore, occasional obstacles were encountered in communicating with staff in English, leading to unnecessary misunderstandings. The most obvious example was a notification letter we received regarding upcoming maintenance work in our room; the English version contained significant translation errors regarding the dates of the work, causing initial confusion. These details reflect room for improvement in the hotel's international service standards. Additionally, adding hot and cold water dispensers to the common area, particularly in the coffee corner, would be beneficial.

The first time I stayed at a hot spring hotel in Japan, I encountered a super cold current and a blizzard, which did not affect the mood of this experience. From the reception of check-in, the room is clean and tidy, to the departure of the hotel, the counter staff helps to check whether the train has stopped and arranges a shuttle bus to Miyagi Station. The whole experience is very good.

GGuest UserNot the most modern. But very cosy and warm, impeccable service and hospitality. Child play facilities inside the hotel (up to 6 or 7 years old). That's a bar for the adults too, open tab until the night. Private onsen is available for 1000jpy for 45 minutes, and is adjacent but separate to the public onsen that is available to hotel guests. Parking is just outside the hotel. Restaurants and snow gear rental is available down the road.

LLing·YI've stayed at this hotel many times; we book it every year. It's not exceptional, but it's decent, reasonably priced, and the location is acceptable. The meals are quite thoughtful, with different ingredients daily, so even if you stay for half a month, you'll have something new every day, and the taste is good. Overall, it offers excellent value for money; it has everything you need.

EEduTWe had an amazing time at NASPA New Otani — this hotel is a fantastic choice if you’re visiting Yuzawa, especially for a winter getaway! The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay, making us feel right at home from check-in to check-out. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable — perfect for relaxing after a day of skiing. The location is ideal for winter sports lovers with ski-in/ski-out access to the slopes and easy shuttle service to Echigo-Yuzawa Station, which made getting around a breeze even in snowy weather. The onsen and bathing facilities were relaxing and just what we needed after spending time outdoors. The buffet breakfast and dinner had plenty of variety and were really enjoyable, with something for everyone. While the hotel is set a little away from town, the free shuttle made it convenient to explore the area if we wanted. Overall, it felt like a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and superb service — highly recommended!

OOlivier - GillesNothing very new to tell since all the previous reviews say it all. The price is too high for the service. The best aspect of this hotel is its closeness to the slopes. The rooms are so-so, the lack of hooks is astounding for ski-oriented accommodation, the beds aren't particularly comfy, the breakfast isn't super good nor well supplied, there's hardly any WiFi reception anywhere, the common spaces are chilly, and let's not talk about the onsen. The staff do try hard to make a difference, but meaning well doesn't always cut it. I'm still a bit disappointed by being offered no meaningful commercial gesture after agreeing graciously to switch rooms at the manager's request; in retrospect, as I'm writing this review, a ¥700 bottle of wine I didn't ask for made me feel a bit cheap. I ended up offering it to the staff during check-out. We decided to ignore all the previous comments because we organized our trip late and are usually easy to please. But quite frankly, I don't understand why some issues haven't been fixed yet, even simple ones such as adding WiFi repeaters and adding hooks in the rooms.

GGuest UserI chose it with rice and source hanging water in Uonuma. Anyway, the hot water was good. The hot springs that you can enter while cooling in the open air are exceptional. My skin became chewy and I was happy with the smoothness. The building is old but the interior is clean and I like it with fashionable furniture. I also like the service between reasonable distances. The rice for dinner was as good as expected and delicious. However, the set meal was fried meat and fish and fried fish oyster set meal, but it was heavy for me. But all the side dishes were delicious with 4! I thought that there was an attractive okazu in the single item, and if there was a set of rice miso soup side dishes, I could assemble my favorite dinner with a single item 〜. It was a nice inn where you can see the rice fields after harvesting and the autumn mountains 々. The heron was taking a rest on the roof.
