Great
GGuest UserThe location and view are excellent, it was close to Mt. Fuji. With clear and good weather, you are able to see Mt. Fuji with a specular view. The staff provides excellent service to the quests. If I am really critical, it just doesn't have a gym room. Breakfast and dinner are great too, high quality! Highly recommended!
Jjoeykhor97We had a wonderful stay at Royal Hotel Kawaguchiko with our family. The overall experience was very pleasant and relaxing. The meals were perfect—beautifully prepared and very satisfying. One of the highlights was the onsen located on the ground floor, which was clean, comfortable, and incredibly relaxing after a long day.
The atmosphere of the hotel is calm and welcoming, making it a great choice for families. We truly enjoyed our time here and would happily stay again when visiting Kawaguchiko.
WWinWin 小豆An unexpectedly delightful stay! The hotel facilities were incredibly spacious. The room was huge, and our mountain-view room offered views of Mount Fuji. The hotel features a hot spring bath with multiple relaxation areas, offering not only ice water but also fruit vinegar. The lobby floor has a lounge that's open in the afternoon and evening, providing a variety of snacks (dried fruits, cheese, crisps, candies), soft drinks, juices, and various alcoholic beverages. You can stargaze on the rooftop, surrounded by a spectacular 180-degree starry sky. The breakfast area has two sections, offering a wide array of breakfast items and desserts. A thoughtful touch: the front desk even calls your room before breakfast ends to remind you to eat! 👍 Furthermore, the children's play area is excellent, spanning two half-levels with balls, board games, books, a board game section, a small toy truck area, and large climbing play structures. It's truly perfect for families with children. 😍😍 I recommend checking in a bit early. 😊
GGuest UserFor any Yuru Camp anime fans, if you also are interested in an Onsen experience this is the perfect place. The facilities and staff are amazing! I couldn't believe the size of my room, especially after coming from a business hotel in Tokyo. I thought Deluxe Twin was just the ”deluxe” version of a standard single twin size bed room instead of two twin beds but there are no complaints.
Given it's more remote location I was expecting zero English but I was so surprised at how well some of the staff spoke English and had print outs for English speakers. I have to shout out two staff members, Nozomi and Joon Bae's english combined with my limited and grammatically atrocious Japanese they went above and beyond making me understand how everything worked as well as assisting me with my ventures outside of the onsen. They have two e-bikes available for rent which I rode to the next station on the minobu line so I could visit the school that was used in the anime as well as get a taxi to take me to Lake Shibere, from episodes 6 and 7 of season one.
It was my first time in Japan, being the only foreigner at the hotel for the two full days, I only visited the baths once however the facilities are amazing and I plan on going back to use the Onsen more.
RRon_NYanagiya is a nice little local onsen. They do not have too many rooms so you will not feel overcrowded. It is a nice place to spend for days to relax your body and mind.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. They can speak limited English but in case you come across any issue with language, feel free to use translation app.
If you are driving, the onsen is easy to find and there is a carpark in front of the Onsen with plenty of space. There are also 2 x EV charging but not sure if they are for onsen guess.
The room is spacious, clean and tidy. The air conditioner is featured with heater and cooler function, so you don't have to worry about weather during winter and summer.
The hot spring is open for 24 hrs, except time when they swap between male and female access, usually it takes 30 minutes and they take this opportunity to clean up the facilities too.
Food are generally fine and portion is reasonable. Staff are caring d considerate. We have two kids at age of 7 and 9 and they do not take spicy or raw food. When they noticed, they have offered to tailor made the breakfast for the kids so that they don't prepare food that kids do not eat.
YYTL99This is truly the perfect place to stay in Kawaguchiko. The service was exceptional from start to finish, warm, attentive, and thoughtful. The room was spacious and beautifully designed, with a breathtaking view of Mount Fuji right from the room. Waking up to Fuji in the morning felt unreal.
Having a private in-room onsen made the experience even more special soaking in the hot spring while facing Mount Fuji is something that hits differently and is hard to put into words. Dinner and breakfast were both beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, turning every meal into a memorable experience.
Fufu Kawaguchiko delivered an unforgettable stay, where comfort, tranquility, and understated luxury came together perfectly.
JJanice SohBooked the Bao accommodation and our family enjoyed the glamping experience. Inside was cosy and warm, bed was comfy and clean. We checked in quite late, it was going dark and cold, so we did not have much time exploring the place. We ordered the BBQ dinner set and they helped a bit with setting up the BBQ. It was just beside the Bao but we didn't expect it to be so cold and we have to start the fireplace ourselves with wood provided. It was a great experience but I feel it would be better if we went just before winter. Loved the free onsen I went with my daughter but it is a long walk (slightly less than 10mins) from the Bao to it. Would be good if it is nearer as it's pitch dark and cold to walk to it at night.
GGuest UserA classic old-school modern hotel with ryokan-type service. The room is huge and has excellent views of the river. On a good day, it should be possible to see Mount Fuji as well. There is also big onsen area with an outdoor bath area.
Dinner is served on the ground floor restaurant and it was a delicious multicourse meal which includes really good wagyu steak with wasabi shoyuzuke. Dessert also includes the region's famed grapes. Breakfast was served buffet style with selection of Japanese and western items.
I drove to the hotel with a rental car. It is not too far from a station on a local line but I recommend driving around to explore instead. The patrons to the hotel also seemed more local.
GGuest UserI stayed here on a solo trip. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations beforehand. Since it was a weekday, there weren't many people, so I was able to relax and enjoy the large public bath and sauna. Before my bath, I had curry and boiled dumplings at the restaurant on the second floor. I still felt a bit hungry after my bath, so I went to an izakaya on the second floor. The portions were good and tasty for the price, and they're open until midnight, so I had the luxurious experience of eating and drinking to my heart's content and then going straight to bed in my room. It's a facility I'd definitely like to return to.
