The hotel is right by the Mekong River, and the cafe has a river view. The room is large, the facilities are new, and the wood used is warm and feels first-class. The mushroom and lean meat porridge provided for breakfast is a must! The front desk manager Xiaolong speaks fluent Chinese and provides warm service. This is my second stay, and it has basically become a regular place to stay in Labang in the future.

Although the hotel probably offers about the same as most others in the area and is comfortable enough, this review is affected by several negative aspects. First, the room I reserved and paid for was not the same as the one allocated to me. Reserved a premium double Room allocated was a standard twin. Can only assume the proprietor didn't bother to cofirm that the booking detail natched up with the room provuded. I had forgotten what I had actually paid for and only came to realise it was different after I had unpacked. The specified features of the premium room included a 'private spa', balcony and queen sized bed, all absent. Refrigerator did not work. The room I received was priced about $12 per day less than what I paid for. Free breakfast is included and provided by a separate restaurant on the Mekong (nothing special but OK). Another seemingly minor but annoying aspect was the lack of hot water. No kettle provided but there was a water dispenser with hot water option which also did not work. The reserved room with balcony was upstairs, however was shunted very quickly upon check-in into a standard twin room situated 3m from the reception desk. Not the end of the world but in hindsight irritating and just took the edge off my stay in Luang Prabang. Overall not too bad but overpriced, especially considering the items absent or malfunctioned.

Spacious rooms with very comfortable beds and nice bathrooms The breakfast options are wonderful and provide energy to start your day. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. I would totally recommend this place for a few nights in Luang Prabang as it's close to all the attractions, especially with the night markets around the corner. Owners were super accommodating and helped with transport and luggage.

We spent 3 nights in this small hotel. The rooms are correct, clean but very spacious. The staff is very nice and despite the language barrier, try to satisfy us as best as possible. We have to order the evening if we want eggs. Otherwise we are a group of 12 people, the only on the hotel, and a certain lack of organisation despite the good will of the hotel. The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. The hotel is located along a street, so a little noise but the location is interesting for walking, visiting etc.. correct stay

Check In Date : 26th August 2022. Check Out Date : 28th August 2022. Room : 07. Location : The villa is located right in the heart of the historic old town Luang Prabang. It is basically located at the very centre of LP peninsula. It is not facing the main road (which is good) but it is located just 45 secs walk from the main road. Just next to the villa, there is a very simple and compact grocery store. within 5 mins, there are cafes, souvenir shops, pharmacy and also very near to the 2 rivers that made up the LP peninsula. Going down the hill, there is the mighty river Mekong, which is very beautiful during sunset. Going uphill which is not steep, there is Nam Khan River. Within 10-15 mins walks, I can reach the Royal Palace, Phousi Hill, Night Market and the morning market. The location is SUPER PERFECT. Reception and Service : We arrived at the city around 9.20am. 26th August 2022 which is a blessing. We didnt know that there is Boat Racing Festival, the city is basically dead congested. The tuktuk driver dopped us at Dara Market and we had to walk all the way to the hotel (3km) with 7kg rucksack on our back. We reached the hotel around 10am. To our surprise, we were told that our room is ready and voila, the reception guy let us go in the room 4 hours early with ZERO charge. The recep made a lot of suggestion and had plenty of topics to talk to us. He suggested us to visit the Boat Racing Festival because it is the last day. So we followed his advice and we got to celebrate it like a local. The festival itself is amazing. The recep always helpful to us and always smile. We feel really welcome. We always get a massive greet whenever we come back to the villa. Room : I remember specifically that I book a deluxe room but we got a triple room. That free upgrade came with ZERO costs to our wallet. The room is spacious. The AC is cold. The fridge is working well. The bathroom is massive, and hot water working perfectly. The mattress is soft and despite the wooden exterior, I felt quiet whenever we enter the room. However, there is no elevator provided. Disable people might have to contact the villa if you want to book so you can request for lower room specifically. And since LP is such a charming little town, most of the hotels in the city are also 2 stories with no elevator for sure. I love the room and the cleanliness. Facility : As per said, there are no elevator and the upper room isnt accessible to people with disability. There is a small front yard where tourists can park motorcycle. Breakfast : People choose breakfast from the menu provided. We only get to try the breakfast once because the second day, we went to Tad Sae around 7am. The noodle soup is delicious and we love the fruit plate. The eating area is small, good for chatting with other travelers. But it is simply kept clean at all time. Sleep Quality : 9.9/10. We have just spent 4 fantastic nights at Liberty Place. The owners are so so lovely and friendly, they can’t do enough for you. The rooms are lovely and spacious. We had our breakfast on the balcony outside which was nicely set out and decorated. The location is great right in the centre of Luang Prabang, near to the night markets and not far from the Mekong River. We did not use the bicycles however they are free to use and we used their laundry service which was done very quickly. They helped us with a situation one of our friends were in and helped book a tuk tuk when they were lost near the waterfalls without any transport. They went above and beyond to help get our friends back to their hostel when they had no way of getting back! We booked our train tickets to Vang Vieng through the guesthouse. Great price and extremely helpful. There were also other tickets, tours and trips that could also be booked as well. We would highly recommend Liberty Place for anyone travelling to Luang Prabang and we would certainly stay again.

My wife and I stayed at Villa Oasis in March, during Pi Mai (Lao New Year). We stayed twice, for a total of almost two weeks. We loved it. The villa complex is built alongside a swampy little lagoon (with no mosquitos, surprisingly), just a 10 minute walk from Phousi Hill, Sisavangvong Street, and the Luang Prabang Night Market. We chose it because Villa Oasis (and nearby Villa Mahasok) are two of the only mid-range hotels near the Old Quarter that have pools. As it happened, Luang Prabang experienced a heat wave in March 2023, so we were exceptionally glad we had the pool to cool off in. The villa is very close to a supermarket, there are many cheap restaurants close by, and you are only a 10 minute walk from the tourist night market, with lots of eating and drinking options. Two Little Birds cafe is only 5 minutes walk and has fantastic smoothie bowls. The rooms were comfortable, with traditional wood decor and small balconies. Breakfast in the open air restaurant was predictable but good. The villa offers free bicycles, which is handy if you want to get to the main restaurant and bar area of the Old Quarter, on the mid section of Sisavangvong Street, or to the restaurants along the Mekhong riverbank. Easily the best thing about Villa Oasis was its staff, who couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They were absolutely lovely and would do everything possible to make your stay more comfortable. They were quick to arrange airport transfers, taxis, train tickets, river boat tickets, or anything else needed. Nicest was the complimentary refreshing fresh fruit juice that would magically appear in your room or delivered to you poolside when you arrived back from exploring Luang Prabang.

I'm honestly sad to give this place a 1 star review. My fiancé and I stayed 3 nights here and absolutely loved it. The service was friendly, breakfast was delicious and facilities were very clean. We also booked train tickets to Vang Vieng through them which is a hassle since you can't pay cash or credit card as a westerner. However the treatment given upon/after checkout was extremely disappointing. On the day of departure, he tried to overcharge us. He had charged us 60.000 kip more for train tickets and an extra ~10 % for the stay compared to the actual exchange rate (coming to about 130.000 kip). Tried to explain it was because he had to change it to USD but wouldn't give us a better rate when we offered to pay credit card with 3 % surcharge. We explained that he had to be transparent if he did this, as we expect to pay the price provided on booking.com and to either inform about this fee in advance or increase the prices accordingly. After some arguing he did give us back 160k. After we left though, he marked us as no-show on booking.com so we couldn't leave a bad review (which we actually wouldn't have) and possibly to get a no-show-fee (full price)? Luckily we kept the receipt.

The location of the hotel is excellent. It is at the intersection of the main street. It is very convenient to enter and exit. It is at the starting point of the night market, next to it is a street in the morning market, and there is also a sightseeing spot in the early morning. Opposite is the snack square of the night market. Various service points and vendors such as laundry exchange and juice drinks are very convenient. There are only eight rooms in the hotel, and the room size is not too small. The bathroom is separated from wet and dry. The air conditioner in the room is powerful, and the weather is not afraid of hot weather. Although it is in the center of the night market, the sound insulation of the room is not bad. There is a bar on the fourth floor, and it will be a bit noisy if there are people. The breakfast is a la carte set menu, which is very rich, including juice, coffee, fruit and staple food. Most of the employees have a good service attitude. There is a black-skinned male employee at the front desk with a mediocre service attitude. Ask him any questions, but he doesn't know the answer, and he doesn't even have the willingness to help. On the last day, when we left, we needed his help to take two luggage down from the third floor, and we only saw his smile after giving a tip. There is a kitten with folded ears and a puppy who wants to play in the hotel, so cute!

We booked for 1 night via a booking engine while heading north up the river. Reviews on there said it was next to the boat dock- it’s actually a ＜10 min walk along the village street. We were shown to a room in a modern block set slightly back from the river front bungalows. It was on the 1st floor so had a river and Mountain View over the bungalow roofs and a shared balcony rather than a private one in the bungalows. Not sure why others off our boat got a bungalow- there was only one type of room available on the booking engine and they used the same as us. Maybe as we were staying only 1 night? The room was a good size, clean and had a comfy bed. No need for the fan as it was chilly at night in late January. The hot water worked if you didn’t turn it on fully. The walls were quite thin so you could hear neighbours coughing etc. In general the room was ok but a little expensive for Laos. The owners (European and local) speak good English which is unusual for Laos but they seemed a little distracted (they own a few businesses in the village). In summary, it was clean and comfy enough but for rural Laos $15 would have been a fairer price.

The atmosphere of the hotel is very elegant. The staff are kind. The location was very convenient. The interior of the room was beautiful and harmonious.
