An exceptional stay from start to finish. Perhentian Marriott Resort & Spa exceeded my expectations in every respect. The resort is beautiful, well maintained and situated in a stunning location. The room was spacious, comfortable and thoughtfully designed. What truly sets this property apart, however, is its people. Every member of staff I encountered was warm, courteous, professional and genuinely helpful. It was obvious that the team has been exceptionally well trained and takes pride in delivering excellent guest experiences. The food was consistently good, with a wide selection and quality that complemented the overall stay. As a frequent traveller , I can confidently say that the service culture at this resort stands out. My stay was relaxing, seamless and memorable. Highly recommended, and I look forward to returning. Just a note, in order to get to the 2 beaches, there are stairs and as such, you need to be fit!!! The beaches are pristine , sapphire coloured waters and one could snorkel here. It's beautiful.

There are many hotels on Redang Island on the same beach as this one. Honestly, I haven't been to Laguna, so I don't know what it's like. Excluding the most expensive Taras, the rooms in this hotel are probably better than the others overall, though its price is a bit high. The room is very large, accommodating 4-5 people, making it a top choice for family trips. The beach in front of the hotel is also relatively clean, with finer sand. The hotel's sales team is also very good and meticulously helps guests. However, the hotel's room service was quite unsatisfactory. Firstly, there were ants in the room. I reported it to the hotel for treatment, but nothing was done, leading to adults and children being bitten by ants. Later, they gave me a bottle of insecticide to deal with it myself, which I was very unhappy about. Ctrip helped coordinate multiple times, hoping for compensation, but to no avail. At check-out, due to personal reasons, I carelessly left my passport in the hotel safe. I urgently contacted the hotel but received no response. It was Ctrip that helped me contact the hotel. However, due to ferry schedule issues, I had to arrange a boat myself to retrieve my passport before my last flight. The hotel breakfast is very mediocre, with limited variety. Apart from these issues, Redang Island is definitely worth a visit. You can see sea turtles, Nemo, and many beautiful coral fish. The beach is very comfortable. The most delightful part was seeing tractors, which most city kids haven't seen, being used by these hotels to transport guests – it's quite charming. If you have enough time, you can stay a few extra days to fully experience it. Remember to book the Chinese restaurant on the island in advance; it opens at 6:30 PM every day.

Everything was great overall, except for the bedding. It rained on the first night, and the room felt quite damp. The pillow had a strong musty smell, almost like it had been used for years, and I couldn’t sleep properly because of the smell. I’m not sure if the room service changed the bedding the next day, but the following night it didn’t rain and there was no smell. Other than that, everything else was great

Room is relatively clean. Beddings is fine. Lighting is too dark. AC cold good. Fridge is disgusting so we didn't use. Bathroom is horrible 😓 I booked 3 rooms all 3 shower head not in good condition. Please change the shower head! It doesn't cost you a bomb. The doors is disgusting. Feel so uncomfortable. We wash our hair at the pool shower area. There isn't any choice of food. Only the coffeehouse limited food. If wants to go to Long Beach for more choice of food will cost Rm50/per head boat. The only good experience is the employees all are superb professional, good manners, helpful.

The hotel having a lounge at Terengganu Airport is a huge plus! Upon arrival, the lounge staff were incredibly helpful and quickly arranged our transfer to the jetty. Once we reached the island and checked in, everything was meticulously organized, with staff collaborating efficiently to manage all our bookings. Saiful, the restaurant manager, thoughtfully added me on WeChat to arrange our themed dinner, which was a very nice touch – thumbs up! Our customer relations manager, Hamdan, followed up throughout our stay, assisting with activity arrangements, answering all our questions, and checking in daily to see how we were doing, making us feel right at home – another thumbs up! Finally, I have to mention the fantastic location of The Taaras! The private beach view from our cliff suite was absolutely stunning! The room was spacious and well-laid out; our whole family loved it! With all the facilities at the hotel, there's no chance of getting bored. A tip for future visitors: the hotel has its own private airstrip on the island. Next time we come to Redang, we can fly directly from Kuala Lumpur with Taaras Air, saving us the hassle of the boat journey! All in all, The Taaras is the top choice for Redang Island!

Overall my stay was fine. During check in staff are busy talking with a group of colleque without realizing our arrival... hahaha, but thats fine as they also need social interectios among them

The hotel os great, if you want that sea view, you will be walking up a lot of steps. Being an all inclusive, we took the basic all inclusive package. The food was delicious. Good selection for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was ok. The sunset bar is available if you miss lunch. Good facilities. Staff were great, special shout out to Athira at the sunset bar, she is lovely and the lunch/dinner staff. A few hiccups with the reception, but was all sorted by the manager. Double check room prices for extensions, boat prices etc. I would recommend this hotel. It is quiet and wonderful for couples. Water taxis are readily available to move around the islands tor day trips.

The room is large, with a courtyard, and a little bit of a Maldivian feel, but no hair dryer was found. The food is good, the taste is OK, the ingredients are fresh, and it is slightly more expensive than other nearby restaurants. The service is still quite enthusiastic, especially the on-demand food service staff for breakfast, who are very enthusiastic and proactively ask if there are any dishes that need to be ordered. Proactive service is precious and feels very good. However, the front desk service is perfunctory, seemingly enthusiastic but not solving the problem. After waiting for a long time, no one took the initiative to tell us that we can check in. We went to the front desk to ask, and a few chatty waitresses smiled and said that it was ok now. When we left, we missed the boat because the front desk arranged to wait for the water taxi. Obviously, we were very anxious and asked many times, but the front desk told us that there was no problem. The boat is often late. I asked them to call the shipping company to inform us that we have not boarded the boat yet, and I guess there was no communication. I was speechless. The service to customers should not be just superficial enthusiasm. I hope to really solve problems for guests instead of creating problems.

I would say the service is improved and much better when compared to last year 2025. I enjoyed staying here, great location and the family room type is comfortable for 2 people because of big bed. However the room no. 611 there are 2 times issues because of the main door broken and got locked from inside, also the bathroom door as well got locked inside because of the door slide.  The foods as restaurant is decent and good potion, a little bit pricey for service taxes 10% and another additional taxes more 8% which mean after your meal you must pay 18% taxes.

We had an unexpectedly beautiful 4D3N stay at Redang Divers Resort. Initially hesitant due to the 3.2 rating, we booked as it was the only available option, but it turned out to be the best decision.From the warm yet respectful service by Wei to meeting the humble owners Adrian and his wife, everything felt genuine and comfortable. The food was outstanding (we truly miss the food!) honestly among the best we had in Redang.The beachfront view was amazing, white sand and turquoise sea right in front of our room. Simple, raw island vibes, clean rooms, and a truly heartfelt experience for our family. A small note: the toilet flooring could use an upgrade, but we understand refurbishment is already underway with the new management.Not a “luxury” resort, but definitely 5-star in heart, service, and overall experience.We’ll definitely be back. Thank you for making us feel at home!
