Created in 2018 by Chinese multidisciplinary artist Xiong Miao, SKULLPANDA is a character that embodies her fascination with life’s uncertainties and unanswered questions. With kewpie-style features, chubby pigtails, and a signature astronaut-like helmet, SKULLPANDA blends cuteness with an intriguing, mysterious edge—earning a devoted following across Asia.
Designed as a version of the artist herself, SKULLPANDA reflects themes of doubt, curiosity, and the emotional complexity of everyday life. Its earlier showcase in Shanghai went viral for its oversized sculptures, kinetic artworks, digital installations, and immersive visual storytelling—revealing just how expressive this beloved POP MART character can be.

Making its international debut at the National Museum of Singapore, the SKULLPANDA CAGE-UNCAGE Showcase is presented by POP MART in partnership with the National Museum of Singapore (NMS) and the Singapore Tourism Board. Running from 12 December 2025 to 22 February 2026, this immersive and thought-provoking showcase expands the artistic expression of SKULLPANDA beyond the collectible figure.

The exhibition explores six universal themes drawn from everyday life—Emotion, Fortune, Rules, Exploration, Life, and Direction. Through visually striking, interactive installations, visitors are invited to reflect on the tension between certainty and freedom that accompanies every choice we make. Expect mobile installations, immersive tableaus, oversized sculptures, digital screen works, and kinetic pieces that bring these concepts to life.
