The Grove Hotel & Conference Centre Bahrain

Amwaj Island
The hotel was perfect and the staff was super friendly and the room was clean. The price of the hotel was great. The 2 things that I didn’t like are: 1. My room was with a balcony. But there were no chairs at the balcony, so the balcony was useless. 2.I ordered a coffee from Starbucks and when the driver arrived they didn’t allow him to bring it to my room. I called the reception and I told them that the order is already paid, if the driver is not allowed to come upstairs please send the coffee with any of the hotel staff. They answered (it is even not allowed to send the coffee with the hotel staff and you have to come yourself downstairs to take your coffee) !!! That was weird!! At the check out I told the hotel’s manager about what happened and he told me that it’s not allowed by the ministry of tourism. That was not true because I stayed at many hotels in Bahrain and all of them were allowing the food to be delivered to the rooms.
Oriental Palace Hotel

If you don't have a lot of time to spend in Manama, I would recommend Oriental Palace Hotel for its location, being in the heart of the city, and in walking distance to Bab al Bahrain as well as many other amenities. The hotel itself, however, was pretty terrible. We requested a double bed and a cot as we were travelling as a family of five, an infant included, and specifically asked for a non-smoking room for that reason. Instead, we were given a room with two extremely narrow single beds, no cot, and the room absolutely stunk like cigarettes. The beds were the hardest I'd ever slept on, we were only given one towel for the room, and there was no kettle nor coffee or tea facilities, meaning I had no option to make up bottles for my infant, despite the hotel calling itself a ”family friendly hotel”. Despite complaining multiple times, the WiFi did not work at all except at reception, so we had no WiFi service in the room. Aside from the great location and the low price, the hotel provides a very good buffet breakfast, and the staff were very friendly. This hotel may be a good option if you are in transit, but don't arrive with very high expectations.
