Latest Events in Lisbon District(August Updated)

From November 6th to 15th, 2026, the Lisbon Film Festival (LEFFEST) will be held in eight iconic venues, transforming Lisbon and Amadora into a constellation of theater, encounters, and revelations. Ten days of film screenings, debates, and exchanges will make these eight stages spaces for transition and discovery, where film intersects with music, literature, and contemporary reflection.

The new Belém Traditional Book Festival will be held from September 17th to 20th. This initiative, decided by the President of the Republic, transforms Belém Palace into a stage for celebrating books, reading, and exchange among Portuguese-language literature readers and writers. As always, the event includes panel discussions, live interviews, new book launches, concerts, and open-air cinemas, while retaining activity areas for children and teenagers, as well as outdoor seating and restaurants. The book festival returns to the Belém Palace gardens and, as always, is organized in partnership with the Portuguese Association of Publishers and Booksellers (APEL).

Amadora BD is one of the most important cultural events in Portugal and a major international event for comics, making it one of the most popular comics events in Portugal. As an international comics festival, its mission is to promote the best of world comics each year, bringing together the most outstanding comic artists and representatives from the São Paulo metropolitan area. In addition to organizing workshops, exhibitions, book launches, signings, seminars, games areas, and guided tours for schools and other educational institutions throughout the country, Amadora BD boasts 36 years of experience in comics art direction, hosting international delegations, organizing comics workshops, and is particularly adept at hosting large-scale seminars for professionals. Since its inception, Amadora BD has actively participated in international projects and was a key participant in the "Franco-Portuguese Cultural Season," a joint event organized by the French Cultural Center and the Portuguese Ministry of Culture.

The impossibility and absurdity of the title are congregated to the strategy for the use of natural resources, where the chance, in a constant game, questions the artist on the result and the sense of the creative process.
