"ULTRA JAPAN" is the Japanese version of the world's largest urban dance music festival "ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL" (UMF), which originated in Miami, USA in 1999. As a pioneer of dance music festivals, UMF is now held in 27 countries and regions around the world. Over the past 10 events, top DJs and music producers from around the world have continuously attracted audiences with their vibrant and energetic dance music. Attendees can enjoy underground music styles such as techno and tech house, as well as unique musical styles brought by emerging artists from both domestic and international scenes. As an urban music festival accessible within approximately 15 minutes by car from Shibuya, ULTRA JAPAN has consistently attracted audiences with its diverse appeal, including high fashion. In 2026, the festival will celebrate its 11th anniversary.

TREASURE is a global boy group that debuted under YG ENTERTAINMENT on August 7, 2020, and the slew of newcomer awards they won in 2021 earned them the nickname "monster rookies." In 2024, their second JAPAN TOUR "2024 TREASURE TOUR [REBOOT] IN JAPAN" was held in seven cities across eight venues with sixteen performances, breaking the record from their first tour with a total of 300,000 attendees. In July of the same year, they held the fan meeting "2024 TREASURE FAN MEETING ~ WONDERLAND ~" with 23 performances across six cities and a total of 170,000 people attended - an unprecedented scale for a Korean boy band.With a total of 39 shows for both tours and a total audience of nearly 500,000 people, they are drawing a great deal of attention as a global boy group that is focused on their live shows. From 2025 through early 2026, TREASURE successfully completed their third Japan tour, “PULSE ON.” The 15-show run attracted over 300,000 attendees, demonstrating the group's formidable strength and influence as “live performers.” In 2026, TREASURE is set to launch a brand-new fan tour—“TREASURE THE STAGE 2026 IN JAPAN.” The tour will visit seven cities across Japan, with a total of 15 performances.

As one of Tokyo's largest fireworks displays, approximately 15,000 fireworks are launched simultaneously from both banks of the river. Highlights include traditional "artistic fireworks" crafted by Japan's top pyrotechnicians, one of Tokyo's largest "15-inch diameter" fireworks, and the grand finale, a massive "Niagara Falls in the Sky" starry sky display. The deafening roar of the fireworks, launched so close to the audience, is also a major highlight of the show. This large-scale fireworks display, launched simultaneously from five locations, boasts improved quality and quantity, promising spectacular opening and closing ceremonies. A fireworks display will also be held in 2026 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Itabashi Ward Tourism Association.

This fireworks display continues the tradition of the Ryogoku River Opening Fireworks Festival. Its origins can be traced back to the "Ryogoku River Opening" in 1733 (18 AD), making it one of the most renowned and traditional fireworks displays in the Kanto region. After several interruptions, the festival was revived in 1978 (Showa 53) as the "Sumida River Fireworks Festival." The fireworks are mainly divided into two categories: "warimono," which unfolds into a chrysanthemum-shaped spherical display; and "pokamono," where the firework explodes in the air, releasing stars and other fragments. A fireworks competition is held at the first location downstream of Sakura Bridge and upstream of Koto Bridge, with participating companies including those associated with the Ryogoku River Fireworks Festival and those that have achieved excellent results in numerous competitions.

This exhibition marks Mariko Mori's first solo museum exhibition in Japan in 24 years, since "Mariko Mori: Pure Land" at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo in 2002. This major solo exhibition brings together approximately 80 works from her more than 30-year career, encompassing various media including interactive installations, sculptures, video, photography, painting, and performance art. The exhibition will present representative works from Mori's early to recent periods in chronological order, and will also publicly display related documents and archives for the first time.
