We are proud to announce our Annual Show & Shine has been confirmed on 19th July at the Polish Association, Church Lane, Stoke Poges, Slough, SL2 4NZ! What to expect: An event not to be missed! Live DJ throughout the day Live Dhol Performances Show & Shine Competition with guest judges Classic Cars / Modified Cars / Super Cars / Super Bikes - All Static Trade Stands & Club Stands Variety of food stands available The venue has a fully licensed bar Secured Family Friendly environment Childrens entertainment Open Green Space Onsite Security Show & Shine Entries and Visitor Entries must have purchased a ticket beforehand to avoid disappointment. Strictly NO Alcohol to be brought on site. This is a family friendly environment and would appreciate if you could be considerate and respect the grounds and pedestrians around. Strictly NO anti-social behaviour and anyone acting like this will be escorted off site and will be banned from our future events. Make your own Sea Glass Jewellery using Bezel Setting techniques. Suitable for beginners. Voted No.1 of fun things to do in Penryn! Sea Glass Jewellery Workshop - Bezel Setting with a BONUS Stacking Ring No experience neccesary - Suitable for total beginners :) The process: During this full day workshop, you will learn how to correctly measure, cut, file, solder, and finish your own pieces. To start with, we will practice techniques and explore design options by making a stacking ring to really understand the jewellery making basics, before progressing onto your final sea glass design. All projects will be made using 100% recycled sterling silver. Alongside your stacking ring, you can choose to make either a sea glass pendant or sea glass ring . You may upgrade your design to a bangle for an extra fee to cover materials. All materials and tools will be provided. At the end of the day, you will take home your very own handcrafted one-of-a-kind pendant or ring – as well as a stacking ring and an organic cotton pouch. Bezel setting is the technique of encasing Sea Glass around the back and sides of the Sea Glass piece and folding in the edges to keep it safe and secure. You are more than welcome to bring your own sea glass, however I do have a vast array of shapes and colours to choose from should you wish to use some of mine. If you are going to bring your own sea glass treasures, please bring make sure they are fully rounded & even in height. No higher than 4mm. Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult who is also attending the workshop. Sensible, closed shoes required and no loose clothing: things can get a little messy in a jewellery making environment and whilst apron’s are provided, it’s worth bearing in mind not to wear your very best clothes! Join us for our final ride of the year and indulge in some lighthearted Christmas fun as we showcase our creativity through our themed biking outfits. The route for this ride is relatively short, allowing for a leisurely coffee break where you can savor delicious mince pies and catch up with both familiar faces and new acquaintances. To ensure we have enough coffee and mince pies for everyone, we kindly ask you to register your attendance. We are excited to welcome you to this joyful celebration. AfrikaBurn is a community of participants who come together to create art, costume, performance, theme camps, music, mutant vehicles and much, much more. All of this is created through a volunteer and gifting culture. The main annual AfrikaBurn event takes place in the Tankwa Karoo, located between the Northern Cape and Western Cape Provinces of South Africa, usually at the end of April every year. AfrikaBurn's aim is to be radically inclusive and accessible to anyone. The touchstone of value in our culture will always be immediacy: experience before theory, moral relationships before politics, survival before services, roles before jobs, ritual before symbolism, work before vested interest, participant support before sponsorship.
