NI Junior Foil Series Round 5 is scheduled to take place on Sun 03 March 2024 at Sullivan Upper School in Holywood, Belfast Road, BT18 9EP. This event is the final round of the NIJFS Season 2023/2024. The competition will begin promptly at 10:30, so fencers are advised to arrive early for check-in. The closing date for entries is 10pm on Tue 27 February 2024, and all entries must be submitted online. Participants should note that there is an entry fee of £20 and a valid British Fencing membership (or equivalent) is required to compete. Failure to present a valid membership will result in disqualification. Check-in times for each age category are as follows: U16M and U16F close at 10:15, U14M and U14F close at 10:30, U12M and U12F close at 11:00, and U10 Mixed closes at 11:15. Safety regulations will be strictly enforced, including the requirement to wear breeches and long socks. If a fencer wishes to compete in an age group category above their eligibility, they must contact james.penny@nifencing.com in advance. NI Fencing reserves the right to select or change the competition format, even on the day of the event. At the end of the competition, presentations will be made to the top 4 fencers in each category. The age categories are as follows: U10 (born in 2014 or 2015), U12 (born in 2012 or 2013), U14 (born in 2010 or 2011), and U16 (born in 2008 or 2009). Blade sizes and kit requirements vary depending on the category. Poules and direct elimination rounds will be held with specific rules for each age group. It is important to note that this event is run in accordance with British Fencing policies and guidelines, including the Fair Play Code. All participants are expected to abide by these policies and encourage their friends, family, and supporters to do the same.
