City Community Tennis is thrilled to announce the upcoming Adaptive Tennis Festival, a special event in honor of International Day for People with a Disability. Taking place on Sunday, December 3rd, this festival will be held at the beautiful Prince Alfred Park Tennis Courts in Surry Hills. From 10 am to midday, participants of all abilities will have the opportunity to join in the festivities and enjoy a day of inclusive tennis.
This event is designed to be accessible for everyone, with a range of features in place to accommodate individuals with disabilities. The venue provides accessible amenities, including bathrooms, ramps, wide door frames, and handrails. Tactile lines on steps ensure safe navigation, and the website itself is equipped with accessibility features. Trained coaches and staff will be on hand to ensure inclusion for all, and audible balls will be available for players with visual impairments. Additionally, a variety of racquet sizes and wheelchairs will be provided, and benches and seating are conveniently located throughout the park.
Situated near Central and Redfern Station, the venue is easily accessible by public transport. Limited parking is available on Chalmers St and George St, including designated disabled parking spots.
Join us for a day of celebration, camaraderie, and the joy of adaptive tennis. Admission to the Adaptive Tennis Festival is free, so mark your calendars and get ready for a memorable event in Surry Hills on December 3rd, 2023.
