The SRC to Bronze Medallion Transition course is an intensive program designed for eligible Surf Rescue Certificate holders seeking to upgrade to the Bronze Medallion award. This fast-paced course acknowledges prior learning and experience on patrol, providing participants with an opportunity to further enhance their skills. It is important for individuals to be available for the entire course and complete any necessary online learning prior to training commencement. The course dates are as follows: Friday January 5th from 7:30am to 3:30pm, Saturday January 6th from 7:30am to 3:30pm, Sunday January 7th from 7:30am to 3:30pm, and Saturday January 13th for assessments starting at 7:30am. Attendance at all sessions is mandatory. The course fee is $40 for youth and $70 for individuals over 18 years of age. To be eligible for this course, participants must have completed their SRC less than 3 years ago and be currently proficient in the award. Additionally, a minimum of 10 hours of patrol in the last 12 months is required, with a minimum age of 15 years on the date of assessment. This transition course presents an opportunity for individuals to progress in their lifeguard training and contribute to beach safety in an official and meaningful manner.
