Join us for the U.S. Army Shreveport Savage Company's Pearl Harbor Day of Infamy Norwegian Foot March (NFM) Event at Barksdale Air Force Base. Pay tribute to our heroes and experience the camaraderie of fellow marchers. Experience the thrill of completing these marches to honor this infamous day. The Norwegian Foot March is an individual event consisting of an 18.6-mile ruck march. Upon successful completion of this march, participants will receive the NFM Certificate and will have the opportunity to obtain the DOD-recognized foreign award that can be worn on dress uniform. Only certificates will be delivered to those who successfully meet the NFM requirements of the march. Important Information -This event is only for Military, Civilian, Veterans, and/ or DOD Contractors at least 18 years of age or older. All participants must have DOD access to Barksdale Air Force Base. Active Military personnel must be on active-duty (title 10) orders, no exceptions. -Be at Hoban Hall at least 1 hour before step off time for accountability, briefing, and bag weigh-in. -Registration, rucksack weigh-in and mandatory briefing 1600. Step off: 1700. Endex no later than 0000 . -Military style rucksack/backpack must be worn throughout the event. Without water added it must weigh 25 lbs. at both start and finish lines. Civilian participants may use civilian version of rucksack. -Military personnel must wear field uniform within regulations during the march. Civilian participants may wear civilian clothing, including long trousers and boots. -Participants must bring rucksack/backpack, water source filled with water, head lamps and reflective belt. - Participants are encouraged but not required to bring a Non-Perishable Food donation as a registration SIGN-UP FEE.
