From 10:30 am to 4:00 pm, participants will delve into the intricate processes involved in lino printing, guided by Nigel Morris, the esteemed Print Coordinator at the Regional Print Centre in Wrexham. With his expertise in various printing techniques, including computer drawings, lino prints, and etchings, Morris brings a wealth of experience to this workshop. Not only will he share his passion for abstraction, symmetry, and systems in his own work, but he will also encourage participants to explore their own unique designs. This session is part of Block 3 and explores the theme of the natural world through experimenting with a variety of materials. The session is free to attend, but spaces are limited, so be sure to book in advance. No experience is necessary, as all materials and equipment will be provided. These inspired therapeutic sessions are designed to help you relax and reconnect with yourself through the art of making. Each session is linked to the next, so we recommend attending more than three to fully experience the benefits. Take some time for yourself and join us in this relaxed and supportive environment, where the focus is on the process rather than the finished piece. Craft of Wellbeing: Craft that Cares is pleased to present Block 3, taking place on February 2, 2024, at Ruthin Craft Centre in Ruthin. This program offers therapeutic sessions that introduce participants to various craft-making processes and aims to bring people together through the art of making. The session will be led by Artist Jude Wood, and visiting maker Nigel Hurlstone will also join on February 2, 2024. These sessions are completely free, but spaces are limited, so it is recommended to book in advance. Attendees can participate in as many sessions as they like, with each session building on the previous ones. No experience is necessary as all materials and equipment will be provided. The primary focus of these sessions is to provide a relaxing and re-connecting experience by using different materials as tools to relax the mind. Taking inspiration from the work of Effie Burns and Sue Hiley-Harris, this particular session will explore the theme of the natural world in 2D and 3D by experimenting with a range of natural and man-made materials. Join us for a couple of hours on Friday afternoons throughout the winter season and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while you immerse yourself in the craft of wellbeing.
