Awaken Your Creative Portal through Intentional Creativity Painting !We are in challenging times and self expression is more important than ever.Creative expression reduces stress and anxiety, and brings us back to ourselves. Everyone has creative energy to express !* Dive into the pleasure of color and play through painting * Relax the overthinking mind by opening the right brain through creative play * Unleash authentic self expression and your creative spark * Access your own information through what emerges * Feel aliveness, joy and healing through the creative process This is a safe space to explore and play. No Art skills or talent needed. This is not about painting a pretty picture or doing anything “right” ! We will move out of “overthinking” and open to discovering ourselves in the moment through creativity with room for all feelings and expressions. Many of us have Art wounds from the past, where we might have been told our expression was not good enough. This creates constriction and fear about even picking up a paintbrush... My intention in this workshop is to help you free yourself from that narrative and discover your creative flow. There is no expectation for perfection in this workshop, it will be a safe space to discover. Intentional Creativity is about creating with mindfulness to allow deeper information from ourselves to come through. When we start with an intention, we can access our right brain deeper knowing and see what wants to come forth onto the canvas. * * ALL ART MATERIALS WILL BE PROVIDED with your registration fee Praise for your facilitator Aimee Tomczak: Aimee is a Creative Catalyst and brings something deep and lasting to her clients. She is empathic, intuitive and smart. I highly recommend joining any of her workshops. --Catherine W. Aimee's workshop was like jump in a cool spring! I was able to touch into my heart again. I moved from fear and anxiety to a connection to my inner support again. --Merideth.S. “Aimee’s class is a unique combination of painting, journaling, community building and fun! In three hours of prompts, writing, sharing and painting, I left feeling re- centered and even joyous, dancing to the beat and present. I’m now signing up for her 3 month program. Aimee is a masterful, genuine and brilliant facilitator.” -- Joan Tabb-Waisbein I love Aimee’s energy, and her approach in using creativity to find clarity is brilliant. In fact, I had a powerful breakthrough during the drawing experience that gave me major insight, clarity and guidance that I never expected to get from what seemed such a simple exercise. -- Tracy W. I felt so supported and safe to explore and expand. The activity you walked us through, with the four colors brought me so much insight. Your leadership, which was wrapped in kindness and compassion allowed for beautiful vulnerability and growth. Thank you for providing that experience! -- Pascale C. So you’ve driven yourself mad making a hundred cups, bud vases, and other wonky vessels. You’ve decided that your interests may lie more in the world of Hot Sculpting. You’ve made dozens of little sculptures and have dreams of compiling them, but (like me) you HATE glue. You’ve seen people use the oxygen/propane hot torch, but are too afraid to try it by yourself. How ever shall you elevate your artistry and bring your wildest sculptural dreams to life!? Never fear! It’s time to take everything you’ve learned so far, and Put It Together! In this course, we will first work together to learn some setups for basic solid geometric objects, how to design an object that balances aesthetics and strategic process before you enter the shop, and how to work in teams to shuttle parts out of the garage and to the bench in order to make multi-part, hot assembled sculptures. What to Expect: With a demo session and garage assembly practice on Friday night, the goal of this course will be to maximize your work time through the weekend to fulfill the assignment of creating abstract sculptures composed of 5 - 10 individual simple geometric components. There will be little room for deviation from the assignment, but if you can make a convincing argument I maaaaaay be persuadable. The hot shop is a loud studio, and can get quite warm. Glassblowing takes repetition and practice - expect failures along with successes. Read more about how to prepare for class on our Registration Info page. Eligibility: This class would be the most useful for folks who are a year and a half or more into their glassblowing journey, or have taken 2-3 classes already - one of which should be a sculpting/solid working class. That said, we will work with whatever you got! Open to ages 14 and up. Pick-up: The glass needs to cool down overnight, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work. This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration. 3 Sessions: Friday, October 11th 6-9pm, Saturday October 12th & Sunday October 13th, 10am-6pm both daysinstructor Lucas Kernan Information Source: UrbanGlass | eventbrite

Students will learn how to rent time at UrbanGlass, be a steward of the studio, set up torches, and get comfortable in the flame shop. The class will have suggested activities but will be loosely structured. You are welcome to explore what speaks to you (think small sculptural objects such as chains, marbles, or flora and fauna in borosilicate glass) What to Expect: About 35% of this class will be instruction, demos, and conversation to ensure participants leave with enough knowledge to feel safe and comfortable renting in the studio afterward. Read more about how to prepare for class on our Registration Info page. Eligibility: No Experience Required. This workshop is designed with the LQBTQ community in mind, but anyone looking to join the Urban Glass community is welcome. If you want to cross flameworking off your bucket list, please consider taking one of Urban Glasses’ one-day workshops. Open to ages 18 and up. Pick-up: The glass needs to cool down overnight then be carefully removed from the mandrels, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.
