Join artist and teacher Pam Vaughan for an enriching and immersive exploration of drawing techniques through a variety of media. This unique 6-week term, titled "Exploring Drawing with Pam Vaughan," will take place on Wednesdays from 6th March to 10th April, from 10am to 12pm, at the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre in Katoomba, NSW.
Under the guidance of experienced artist Pam Vaughan, participants will have the opportunity to develop their observational drawing skills and enhance their creative autonomy. The classes will provide a supportive and playful environment for students to experiment with different materials, such as pencil, charcoal, chalk pastels, ink, collage, and paint. Through engaging with diverse subject matters, including still life, landscapes, and portraiture, participants will learn to recognize and develop their own visual language, whether it be naturalistic or abstract interpretations.
Pam Vaughan's extensive background in studio practice and education, including teaching at prestigious institutions like Sydney University and the National Art School, ensures a high-quality learning experience. Her focus on drawing and printmaking, combined with influences from Sumi-E painters, poet Mary Oliver, yoga and mindfulness practices, and contemporary physics research, contributes to a unique and vibrant teaching approach.
