In the last nine years the owners have restored much of the original landscape while also introducing new ideas. The garden includes a fernery with pond and a kitchen garden and affords stunning views of Brading, Bembridge and Culver Down. The Friends of St Helen’s Church, Isle of Wight - ( charity number 1202450) Steeped in history, this church 'on the hill' has been here since 1717, replacing the 'old church' down on St Helens Duver which was largely washed away by storms. An active place of worship and hub for the community, St Helen's holds a special place for many in the village and beyond. The PCC and newly appointed Priest-in-Charge, Reverend Karen Wilson, are committed to its role as an Eco-Church (receiving a gold award in recognition of their environmental efforts), the Community Fridge Project which supports the people of St Helens with access to free food, and there are plans for a 'Kids Shed' linked to the churchyard. The Friends of St Helen's Church (charity number 1202450) has been established to protect this important pillar of the community. The building is in need of urgent maintenance and, with limited resources, we need your help. Funds raised through the sale of tickets to the St Helens Castle garden visit and donations will be put towards the restoration of the church roof, which requires vital repairs.
