Join us on a relaxed walk from Arc at the the Hat Works, to Viaduct Park just a few steps away. Explore the impact that creativity can have on us, by connecting nature and urban surroundings with art and wellbeing. Led by local artist Alison Waters, we'll visit places in the park which inspire creative responses such as drawing, creative writing and photography. Whether you want to do something for your health and wellbeing, have a go at something creative or just get outdoors, this sessions is about making time for yourself, time to connect with your surroundings and focus on your creativity. Collage, draw, paint, take rubbings, write….and create your own concertina book. Drawing and writing materials will be provided but please feel free to bring your own camera or smartphone. Please note that the walk will take place whatever the weather, so come appropriately dressed. We'll meet at and return to Arc at the Hat Works, where the cafe will be open after the session, serving fresh light lunches, delicious baked treats and drinks for you to enjoy. You’re very welcome to explore our exhibitions, showcasing arts and health work and our retail collection, handmade by participants of our programmes. All are welcome to this taster for NK Theatre Arts' new Script Reading Club, where you can come and meet in a relaxed and friendly environment, listen to some fantastic scenes from a brilliant script being read by one of our experienced performers/practitioners and maybe even join in and have a go at reading some of the characters yourself. We'll have an open discussion about the play, characters, plot, themes and more as well as discussing theatre and performance in general. There is no age limit on the sessions and everyone is welcome to join, there is also no pressure to join in, so if you want to just come and listen, you're very welcome. We are celebrating the brand new Copenhagen equivalent bike infrastructure in Stockport, branded ‘The Helix Ramp’ and we’re doing it in the only way we know how - by riding up, down and around it.. Alongside the seriously cool new Helix, we’re also excited to showcase two alternative routes between Stockport and our Station South home in Levenshulme - both of which will be included on the ride. We’ll stop for delicious refreshments at Station South before circling back to the Stockport Spiral and returning back to the start point at Stockport Train Station. Ever cycled a roller coaster? Well we think this is about as close as you’ll get to such an amusement… on 2 or 3 wheels! Join us for a shorter / family friendly ride where we’ll be having some fun on the Helix before venturing over to Heaton Moor via paths and quiet roads for a mid-way refreshment stop at the brilliant Stomping Ground Cafe, before circling back to our Stockport Spiral. Please note, all children need to be accompanied by their adult and we ask that all kids are 7+ and have some experience of cycling on the roads. We expect to be out until about 1pm. Suitable for : Adults over 18 years who have experience of riding the distance, loose non-technical gravel and in proximity to water Route : Ride Leader : Darren 4) P I N K (A) : Women’s Road RideTime : 10am Distance / speed / notes : 50km @ approx 24kph on the flat. A mainly flat route exploring the lanes around Mobberley. This ride is for confident road cyclists who are comfortable riding in a group. Route : Group Leaders : Anna 5) P I N K (B) : Speedier Hillier, RoadTime : 9am Distance / speed / notes : 70km @ approx 25 -28 kph on the flat. This ride is for experienced road cyclists who are comfortable riding in a group. We’ll take on Artists and Blaze Hill and then a stopoff at Kickback Coffee on the way home.. Route : Group Leaders : Rich W, Rich G, Rich L 6) P I N K (C) : End of Season Challenge : Pym’s ChairNote - This is a ‘reliability ride’ and not for the faint hearted!
