Join us on Saturday 26th April for the Sigma Sports CiCLE Classic Sportif. Starting and finishing at our Oakham store. More details about prizes and refreshments will follow in the new year. Riders will head out, taking in some of the same roads and sectors used in the CiCLE Classic race as well as some of Rutland’s most beautiful countryside. Mixed surfaces and variable conditions combine for pure fun. them On the day, riders taking on the 100km route should meet at the Sigma Sports Oakham store at 8:30 am for a quick briefing and a coffee before setting off. Participants taking on the 50km route will be set off from 10:30 am. There will be feed stations throughout the course stocked with nutrition, replenishments and mechanics should you need them. The full event pack will be sent out a week before so you'll have all information available. Make sure you download the route before your arrival. This is a ride to enjoy at your own pace and there will be signage throughout to help guide you. Join Sigma Sports Oakham for the International Women's Day Social Ride on Saturday, March 16th. All are welcome to participate in this celebratory event at Sigma Sports located on South Street, Oakham, LE15 6HY. The ride will commence at 2:30 pm, following a meeting with the ride captains at the store at 2 pm. There will be two road groups and a gravel group embarking on a scenic journey for a few hours, returning to the store afterward for coffee, cake, and a Q&A session focused on women in cycling. All routines have multiple intensities so you can build your workout around your fitness level. What to expectRegister for a ticket here and you'll receive it via email. Your ticket won't be needed on the day, but registering gives me an idea of numbers and who to expect. Please ensure you have filled in the PAR-Q health form in advance. For insurance purposes, you won't be able to take part if it has not been filled out and returned. On arrival at Oakham C of E Primary School there is free car parking in the main car park to your right as you drive in. Head to the fire door at the end of the car park to get inside - the main reception will be closed. Each class is £6.50, pay on entry. Card is preferred but cash is also accepted. Glow sticks are highly recommended to make the most of the class and the atmosphere. Official reusable Clubbercise glowsticks can be purchased for £6 a pair. Alternatively, you can rent a set for £2 per class. These are free to hire for your first class only. Only official Clubbercise glowsticks may be used in class. The class will start at 7pm prompt and the doors will be locked for this so please arrive in good time. The class is one hour in duration, with regular, scheduled drink breaks, so please make sure you bring plenty of water. Please wear comfortable clothing that's suitable for working out. The group will join the team from Cycle 4 Caroline as they complete the Chatsworth to Burghley leg of their challenge. The route can be found here. C4C will cover 1,100km across the UK starting at Blair Castle in Scotland on Wednesday 20th November and finishing at The Savoy Hotel in London on Saturday 30th November. The objective of C4C is to raise as much money as possible for two charities close to Caroline's heart: the British Eventing Support Trust and Spinal Research.
