You have a chance to try on the equipment and find out what its like to breathe underwater. You will also get to understand what buoyancy underwater is all about.A Try Dive is a good way of seeing if Scuba Diving is the sport for you. Please note the minimum age is 8 years. Students looking to conceptualize, create, and construct new acts in the burlesque and cabaret arena will learn the mechanics of Concept, Costume, Music, and Movement. This class runs 2 hours per week and will cover theory as well as hands-on practical skills. Enrollment is limited to only FIVE registrants to maximize each student’s time and attention. There are two concurrent classes spanning a total of 11 weeks (8 weeks in classroom time plus 3 weeks of home development time). The course culminates in a live showcase featuring each student's newly created solo. This class is appropriate for anyone looking to build a new solo work regardless of experience level. Paul Windridge brings his short film nights to Independent Arts, showing short films from around the world in an intimate setting! Join us for an evening of indie cinema, short films with intros from island filmmaker Paul Windridge. A seated event at Independent Arts Creative Hub with limited availibity. Tickets are available on a pay-what-you-can basis, and can be reserved for whatever price you wish to pay, we suggest a donation of £5 p/p. All funds raised will support Independent Arts in our work to keep supporting vulnerable or isolated island residents, and changing lives through arts. From utilizing best pre-show practices, creating your hosting style through improv techniques and games, and getting lots of hands-on ‘on the mic’ practice with your fellow workshop participants , you’ll learn not only how to get on the mic and announce acts but also how to create safe, silly and energy-filled spaces while you HOST with the Most! This workshop is great for beginners & professionals alike, as we explore the performance spaces we want to BE in and help curate, with positive connective practices that keep us all, audience & performers, in the moment!
