Artwork coming from their studio balances the act of play and memory processing. She strives to answer questions about how to provide comfort and grounding spaces for marginalized, underserved communities through various sensory experiences. Join sisters Sheri Brenden, author of Break Point: Two Minnesota Athletes and the Road to Title IX, and Peg Brenden, a tennis player who filed a federal lawsuit challenging a rule that prevented her from joining her high school team, for a talk about a significant piece of “Girlhood history. Based on news coverage, court transcripts, oral interviews and firsthand experience, they will describe how two girls unlocked the gate to athletic opportunities previously only open to boys.
