Come along and meet the Stage & the City team and try your hand at a variety of short workshops including Drama, Singing, Dance and Musical Theatre. This will give you a great insight into the courses that will be starting in January. No experience necessary! You're never too old to try something new! Everybody welcome! Our 12 week Musical Theatre Beginners Tuesday course starts on 21st January 2025 so we are offering the first class of the term as a £10 taster for those who are unsure about signing up to the full course. This course will be delivered each Tuesday evening and will suit anybody who loves the idea of performing in a musical but has no or little experience. Over the following 12 weeks you will work with Stage & the City’s experienced team who will guide you through a selection of musical theatre numbers, working on the essential components of acting, singing and dance. Please note, if the course becomes fully booked before your taster day you will not be able to attend, so if you are sure you would like a place on any of our courses, it is best to secure your place by booking. You will learn all the tips and tricks to performing in a musical and what it takes to keep an audience entertained. This is a great fun and fabulous way to learn three disciplines in one. O PEN AUDITIONS!Stage & the City will be holding face to face auditions for our Musical Theatre Troupe on Thursday 23rd January 2025. Our Musical Theatre Troupe meet once a week in Camden where they are taught by industry professionals. Each session begins with a warm up and the students are put through their paces learning how to harmonise as a group, finding out where their voice fits into the group, as well as being taught west end style choreography to accompany whichever song they are working on at the time. For this audition, you will need to prepare a verse and a chorus to a musical theatre song of your choice. You will also need to provide an instrumental backing track. If time permits, this will be followed by a group dance audition where everyone will learn a short piece of choreography as a group/ensemble. Auditionees should have some musical theatre experience (this could be a school production when you were younger, a community am dram group etc). This will be a performance team that will learn a choreography created by the incredible Cornel & Rithika, the innovators of the ConRi Style. Their innovative moves and captivating style will bring something new and exciting to London. We are looking for intermediate to advanced dancers for this project who would like to level up in their dancing and have the opportunity to perform locally and internationally including potential performances with Cornel & Rithika.
