Fine Art
Experience the creative world of experimental printmaking at the gallery studio space. This engaging workshop, led by artist and curator Beth Hopkins, offers participants an opportunity to unleash their artistic talents. Using polystyrene as their canvas, attendees will have the chance to carve their unique designs into the material using a range of tools, including a blunt pencil. Additionally, the workshop will explore the technique of chine collé, where images are transferred onto a surface bonded to a heavier support during the printing process. All necessary printing materials will be provided, ensuring a hassle-free experience. While it is encouraged for participants to contemplate the theme of their print in advance, it is not mandatory. Inspired by the diverse mediums showcased in our current Art Fair exhibition, this workshop offers a glimpse into the artistic possibilities within our creative community. Please note that under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Concessions are available for SLaM service users, people over 60, students, individuals receiving ESA, registered disabled individuals, and their carers. Kindly inform the facilitator if you do not wish to be photographed during the workshop. If you are unable to attend, please be considerate and notify us promptly to allow others on the waiting list to participate. Join us on January 6, 2024, at Bethlem Gallery in Beckenham for this enriching Experimental Printing Workshop with Beth Hopkins. Tickets range from £0 to £10.
