At the upcoming Refugee Festival Scotland in 2024, the Gallery of Modern Art in Glasgow will be hosting a free poetry workshop titled "Changemaking: A Poetry Workshop at GoMA." Led by GYG member Mridula Sharma, this workshop aims to delve into creative resistance through the art of blackout poetry. Participants will explore this unique form of expression rooted in historical revolutionary print media and the subversive Dada movement. The workshop provides a platform to celebrate activist visions within a diverse community space, with a focus on expressing solidarity with the people of Palestine facing displacement amidst ongoing violence. Regardless of prior experience in creative writing, individuals are encouraged to join in extending support to refugees and asylum seekers from Palestine. Experienced poets and novices alike are welcome to attend this event on June 14, 2024. Admission is free, and vegan refreshments will be available. For those in the refugee and asylum community, local transportation expenses will be reimbursed.
