A concert in memory of Elisabetta Caon will be held in Padova at the Sala dei Giganti Palazzo Liviano on April 6, 2024. The event aims to raise funds for two scholarships in her honor. Elisabetta, a former student who tragically passed away at the age of 29, had a passion for music and excelled in the field of Biotechnology at the Department of Biology. Supported by her mentor, Professor Sara De Martin from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, she pursued further studies in liver diseases in London, where she had recently completed her PhD.
Elisabetta was not only a talented scientist but also a skilled classical guitarist, being part of the "Quartetto Sliwowitz" along with three musician friends. She had a strong commitment to volunteering, particularly with the association "Perché no?" in Cittadella, supporting communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. To honor her memory and continue her legacy, two Erasmus scholarships will be offered for the academic year 2024/25 at the institution in London where she conducted her research. The concert will feature performances by Francesco Scelzo, a Neapolitan musician, and the Athanor Guitar Quartet, with readings related to Elisabetta's research activities interspersed throughout the program. Admission to the concert is free of charge.
