Join the Advanced 2 Nighter: Gila River Ramble in Kearny, Arizona, for an exhilarating bikepacking experience. This challenging route, designed by Scott Morris, will take you on a thrilling 110-mile journey with 10,663 feet of climbing and descending. Prepare yourself for an adventure like no other! The Gila River Ramble is anything but a ramble, as it features technical singletrack, slickrock drops, and limited water sources. This advanced bikepacking route requires a hardtail mountain bike with big tires or a full suspension. Don't worry about riding alone or facing mechanical issues, as Campfire Cycling will have a mechanic at the back of the ride to ensure everyone's safety. During the ride, you'll have the opportunity to appreciate the stunning scenery and meet fellow riders at various meetups and stops. The pace is relaxed, allowing you to enjoy the surroundings and ride at your own comfortable pace. Temperatures can range from 30 degrees at night to low 70s during the day, so be prepared for varying weather conditions. While embarking on this adventure, we encourage you to consider the importance of protecting the land we explore. The ride passes near Oak Flat, a sacred land that has been the subject of a decade-long battle between the Apache People and mining activists.
