Killington Ski Resort is proud to announce the return of the highly anticipated Loaded Turkey Rail Jam for the 2023 season. This renowned event, known for its tradition and excitement, will take place on November 18th at the Killington Ski Resort in Killington, VT. The Woodward Mountain Parks will once again serve as the arena for this thrilling competition. Participants in the Loaded Turkey Rail Jam will have the chance to showcase their skills and compete for the ultimate prize - a frozen turkey for the first-place winner and all the fixings for second and third place. The awards presentation will be held at a location to be announced soon. To participate in or observe the event, all competitors and spectators must have a valid season pass or lift ticket. Please note that foot traffic will not be permitted on the ski trails, so everyone will need to ski or ride to the venue. Discounted lift tickets are available for competitors and their parents/guardians and can be purchased online or at registration. Registration for the event is $20 plus tax for all divisions. If spots are still available, day-of registration will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the K-1 Lodge. The Fox US Open of Mountain Biking is coming back to Killington on September 21-24, 2023. This exciting event will showcase a variety of thrilling races, including enduro, downhill, next gen, and adaptive racing. In addition to the races, there will also be a best whip competition to keep spectators entertained. Volunteers are an integral part of making this event a success. If you're interested in getting involved, there are various shifts available throughout the weekend. On Thursday, September 21, there will be a need for downhill course marshals from 11:00am to 4:30pm. On Friday, September 22, there will be morning and afternoon shifts for downhill and dual slalom course marshals. Saturday, September 23 will require enduro and downhill course marshals, and Sunday, September 24 will need volunteers for the Next Gen Youth & Adaptive Downhill race. As a course marshal, your responsibilities will include ensuring rider safety and controlling traffic along the race course. Some hiking may be required, so be prepared for that. Before volunteering, you will need to fill out an Express Assumption of Risk form, which can be found on the event's website. In exchange for your time and dedication, volunteers will receive a Killington lift ticket for each shift worked. These lift tickets are valid for one year from the original earned date, giving you plenty of time to enjoy them.

Snowboarders from all over will gather at Killington's The Stash terrain park to showcase their skills on the natural terrain and creative elements of the mountain. This year, the event is proud to donate all proceeds to the Friends of Rutland Skatepark, a non-profit organization dedicated to building a concrete skatepark in Rutland, VT. Volunteers are needed to support the event in three key areas. The first area is Registration, where volunteers will greet and check in participants, ensure correct completion of registration forms, collect signed waiver forms, distribute competition bibs and shirts, and provide information to competitors. Gate Checkers, the second area, will be responsible for reporting any riders who fall or go off course. Volunteers in this role will be equipped with a radio and assigned a designated gate, requiring them to ski or snowboard on intermediate or advanced terrain. Finally, Runners will assist in setting up, taking down, and transporting various equipment throughout the Stash and Lil' Stash terrain parks. This role will require outdoor work, so volunteers should dress appropriately and bring necessary ski/snowboard equipment and additional layers for warmth. All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and are required to fill out the Express Assumption of Risk form in advance.
