Led by Laura Armenta, a seasoned professional in a variety of movement disciplines, participants will have the opportunity to explore spontaneous movement, engage in personal exploration, and foster a collective connection. No previous dance experience is required, making this inclusive experience accessible to individuals of all backgrounds. During the lab, participants will engage in sessions focused on sensory awakening, mindful breathing, and spontaneous movement. By refining motor skills and body awareness, participants will playfully weave creativity, physical challenge, and artistic stimulation into their movement practice. Laura Armenta's multifaceted career as a choreographer, performer, movement educator, and artistic director showcases her commitment to the world of dance and movement. The DAAC Benefit Show, featuring Anthony Erlandson, Johnathan Sides, Rosabelle Walker, Izzy Saylor, and Gray Rapidian, will be held on December 2, 2023, at The DAAC in Grand Rapids. Doors open at 7 pm and tickets are priced at $7. Please note that the show is open to all ages and is a substance-free and jerk-free event. The capacity is limited to 96 people, so ticket availability may vary. If there are any remaining tickets, they can be purchased at the door using cash, PayPal, or credit card. The DAAC offers accessible accommodations, including a ramp entrance, seating if requested, accessible gender-neutral bathrooms, free water and cups, and free earplugs. We value feedback from our attendees and are always open to suggestions on how we can improve. Parking options include street parking, the Berean Baptist Church lot, and the Caliber Collision lot after business hours. Please refrain from parking in Quinn & Tuite's lot. The DAAC is conveniently located on Rapid bus route #11 and offers bike parking as well. We have a strict safe space policy, which prohibits smoking, vaping, and consumption of alcohol or other intoxicating substances inside the building. Any oppressive behavior, such as demeaning or marginalizing others, will not be tolerated. If you witness any such behavior, please report it to a volunteer.
