Join the Bicycle Adventure Club for a welcoming and friendly workout ride. Improve your strength and enjoy the company of fellow cyclists. These popular sessions are back for 2024, designed to keep you moving and connected during the winter months. No need for dumbbells or a gym membership. Instead, you'll learn easy exercises to help you stay strong through the winter and give you an excuse to get outdoors. The sessions will consist of a short city-based ride of about 20-30 minutes to warm up, followed by a stop at a suitable location to learn strength and conditioning exercises using your body weight, water bottles, and bicycles. We'll focus on functional movements that strengthen the muscles you use least when cycling, but which can be sore after an all-terrain ride. Rain or shine, the sessions will take place, with some form of cover provided for the workout. If you ride in clips, it's recommended to bring a pair of flat shoes for the workout part of the ride. The session format includes a meet-up at Brindley Place on the steps outside Eds Easy Diner at 11am, followed by a warm-up ride, a 30-45 minute workout, and a cool-down ride. Afterward, you can enjoy a coffee social and chat about all things bicycles. Attendance is free, but if you'd like to support the Bicycle Adventure Club, a suggested donation of £5 can be made at the ticket checkout.
