Buriram Marathon was created by Mr. Newin Chidchob, the President of Buriram United and the Executive of Chang International Circuit, with the aim of promoting Buriram as “Thailand’s Sport City Center.” The purposes of the Buriram Marathon are to make Buriram one of the best marathon venues in the world and to be a destination that every marathon runner must experience at least once in their lifetime. The Buriram Marathon is organized and designed through the cooperation of the Athletic Association of Thailand (AAT), the Asian Athletics Association (AAA), the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), Buriram United, and the Buriram Government. The Buriram Marathon is approved by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and the Athletic Association of Thailand (AAT) under the supervision of the Athletic Association of Thailand (AAT). The Buriram Marathon courses (Marathon, Half-Marathon, and Mini-Marathon) have been measured by an IAAF-AIMS Grade A course measurer.
