Join Makaylah and Kala at URU Yoga 9 Mile in Pensacola for an evening dedicated to going YINward. This event, titled "Going YINward: Yin Yoga & Bodywork," will provide you with an opportunity to unwind and relax as you receive nourishment through the practice of yin yoga and massage.
Yin yoga is a style that specifically targets the joints, ligaments, fascia, and connective tissue. Through this practice, poses are held for extended periods of time, typically ranging from 3 to 10 minutes. This allows your body to explore its edges and gradually soften into each pose. To optimize your comfort throughout the process, we will encourage the use of props such as blankets, blocks, and bolsters.
The evening will commence with a guided meditation, setting the stage for your inward journey. Makaylah will then lead you through a 75-minute yin sequence, while Kala provides hands-on assists to support you in finding depth within each pose. These assists will incorporate various bodywork techniques, energy work, and adjustments to enhance your posture. It is important to note that we will only touch you with your consent.
To conclude the evening, we will guide you through another meditation to facilitate your return to the present moment and reconnect with your body. Please wear cozy clothes and feel free to bring any props you have available, such as blankets, bolsters, blocks, or an eye pillow.
Makaylah and Kala are both RYT-200hr certified, and Kala brings over ten years of experience as an experienced bodyworker. They also incorporate the modalities of Yoga Nidra and Sound Healing into their practice.
