You can run, but can you run in heels? A fun and fabulous sprint for anyone fierce enough to run in pumps, wedges, stilettos or slingbacks! You can run, but can you run in heels? The 2026 Pride of Woodstock Vermont High Heel Race is a fun and fabulous sprint down Elm Street for anyone fierce enough to don pumps, platforms, wedges, stilettos or slingbacks. Costumes, wigs, make-up and sparkle are highly recommended! Spectators can cheer on their favorite contestants as they sashay down the track, navigating obstacles with poise and flair. The event is not just a race – it's a celebration of love, acceptance, and the joy of being true to oneself. Prizes will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd finishers as well as to the racers with the best heels, outfit, and hair. The registration fee is $44.52 (with Eventbrite fee) and includes a 2026 Pride of Woodstock Vermont High Heel Race T-Shirt to commemorate the event! Americana Highways declared his 2022 recording, “Standing on Shoulders”, as “one of the years best Americana albums…..if you are looking for original songs, I give you Mark Miller’s “Standing on Shoulders””. The same album was hailed by Roots Magazine as one of the 10 best roots albums of 2022. “This Bridge”, Mark’s latest 9 song collection was released May 2025. John Apice writes, “(Miller) flourishes in topics that aren’t often posed by singer-songwriters…exceptional in lyrics and melodic texture”. Mark’s songwriting draws from a deep well of experiences growing up both in rural East Tennessee and Middle Georgia. Being born to musician parents, his childhood home was filled with the playing and singing of hymns, folk songs, and Gospel songs. In April 2026 Mark is re-releasing the EP, “Psalms and Prayers”, a collection of 5 songs written and recorded 25 years ago. He has also released two albums of acoustic hymns, “All for Love’s Sake” and Grace Upon Grace”. In 2010, he released the critically acclaimed “Ain’t It Grand, The Gospel Songs of Blind Willie McTell” Jeff Taylor Member of the 6 time Grammy nominated (one win)Time Jumpers for the past 22 years.Also a member of the Irish trio- The Boys of County Nashville. Dennis Parker Dennis Parker is currently a member of Ricky Skaggs’ band Kentucky Thunder and earned a Grammy award for work on Ricky Skaggs’ Bluegrass Rules Album (guitar, mandolin and vocals). Dennis has also played professionally with Leann Womack, Tracy Lawrence, Joe Diffie, and Mark Chestnutt among others. His most recent release "Songs Under the Air Conditioning Unit" is a dramatic true life story of his own battle with alcoholism and the path to grace.
