Water and Oil | 1200 Washington Street, Hoboken, NJ, USA
Arts
Ben Goldman is thrilled to announce his first show of new work in over a decade, titled "Water and Oil", which will be held at the Mason Civic League in Hoboken, New Jersey. The exhibition will showcase a remarkable collection of over seventy watercolors and seven oil paintings that explore the boundaries of these natural and manmade materials through both representation and abstraction.
The watercolors in this exhibition are vibrant experiments in color, shape, texture, and line, designed to surprise and delight viewers. Some of the pieces depict ethereal scenes from the dreamlike state between sleeping and waking, while others draw inspiration from distant memories or the works of other artists. They are a testament to the artist's ability to tap into the depths of his subconscious and create captivating visual narratives.
The oil paintings on display are larger and more intricate, capturing the essence of the local waterfront, beaches, and elemental forces. Additionally, there are striking portraits of the individuals who inhabit this vibrant community. These paintings offer a glimpse into the artist's profound connection with his surroundings and his skill in bringing them to life on canvas.
Notably, the watercolors are presented in the artist's patented defEYE© frames, made from UV-protective plastics derived from oil. This innovative approach adds a unique touch to the exhibition and further highlights Goldman's creativity and ingenuity.
In addition to the artwork, visitors will have the opportunity to purchase autographed copies of Dr. Goldman's insightful books, exploring the nature of change, middle age, and the future of art. There will also be a nature-based tarot deck and locally sourced raw honey available for purchase.
This exhibition is a true reflection of Ben Goldman's extensive and groundbreaking work in the fields of environment, technology, arts, and human development. As an advisor to governments and the founder and director of several impactful organizations, including City Without Walls (cWOW) and United Visual Arts, Goldman's contributions have had a lasting impact on the arts community.
The Mason Civic League (MCL), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the community, will host this event. MCL provides assistance to community members in need and offers various programs in arts, education, and civic engagement.
