Make your own bonsai in a hands-on, teach and do workshop. You will take home a bonsai in a pot as well as care handouts This is a casual, introductory workshop where students learn the steps for creating their first bonsai. Each step is demonstrated and then students follow along to with their own tree which they will take home at the end of the session. Make a Bonsai workshops are suitable for anyone who is interested in bonsai or wants a basic introduction to set themselves up for further study. Everything you need is supplied. This one is a Dwarf Jade, which is a forgiving indoor species for beginners to care for. Bonsai is the art of growing and shaping miniature trees in containers. Come and learn how to make your own with Darren Melhus from the BC Bonsai Society. Darren's knowledge includes art concepts, horticultural considerations, and specialized techniques. You can expect to leave feeling grounded and confident even if you are new to the hobby. Bring your gloves and everything else is provided! This class is hands-on in a covered outdoor space, so dress for the weather in clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty and prepare to enjoy an afternoon of education and creativity! Join us on May 29th from 5–8pm at our forest-farm for an all-ages evening of connection, celebration, chili and community magic in the woods. So, what’s a Geodome? A Geodome is a beautiful, open, dome-shaped structure made of interlocking triangles. It’s incredibly strong, weather-resistant, and filled with natural light -making it the perfect year-round gathering space for outdoor learning, creative play, and community events at K.I.N.
