Seicento proudly presents a special concert, "Rare Byrd: The Music of William Byrd," in honor of the 400th anniversary of the renowned English composer's music. Known as the father of the madrigal and one of the greatest composers of the Renaissance, William Byrd's choral works are truly exceptional. This captivating event will feature a delightful combination of choral music accompanied by a consort of five violas da gamba. Joining Seicento on stage will be five exceptionally talented gamba players: Hannah Robbins, Zoe Weiss, Sarah Graf, Sarah Biber, and Karl Reque. The viola da gamba, a beautifully crafted bowed stringed instrument from the 15th and 16th centuries, will be played with grace and elegance while seated and supported between the performer's legs.
