Summer is here and Friends of Grove Farm would like to invite you for a guided walk with Martin Smith, a former Ealing Park Ranger, to go in search of butterflies and moths. This will be a 1-2 hour (dependent of weather) gentle walk. Regrettably it is not suitable for wheelchair or buggy access or those with severe walking difficulties as there are steps, uneven and slippy paths and some short uphill stretches. Wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear. The walk will take place in all weathers except the most extreme (i.e. weather that is a health and safety threat). If we do need to cancel due to the weather we will e-mail you the day before. There are 25 places available and booking is essential. We will meet by the Whitton Avenue entrance to Grove Farm. See here for the Google Maps location: https://goo.gl/maps/3sCcvYCyePbuQZHm8 This walk is hosted by Friends of Grove Farm, a community group set up to support Grove Farm Park. You can find out more and join Friends of Grove Farm via our website or Facebook group or Instagram. http://friendsofgrovefarm.wixsite.com/community www.facebook/groups/friendsofgrovefarm/ Instagram @GroveFarmEaling Or you can e-mail us: friendsofgrovefarm@gmail.com Information Source: Friends of Grove Farm | eventbrite

Join us for a guided safari through the Beaver-transformed Paradise Fields for a chance to see the Ealing Beaver Project Beavers. It is a unique opportunity to observe our reintroduced Beaver family and their behaviours with the unique insight from one of the project leaders. Like most wildlife, there is never a guarantee that we will see the Beavers. Using adaptive strategies, we aim to balance the possibility of seeing beavers while minimising disturbing them. Each safari will begin with an introduction and adapt to onsite conditions and current Beaver patterns. Some off-trail walking may be involved so we recommend you wear appropriate waterproof footwear. Your clothing should be of muted colours (greens, browns, greys, blacks), with no loud patterns or designs. Also, no deodorants, perfumes or colognes as Beavers have an acute sense of smell. We request that all attendees behave appropriately. You will be required to stand still in silence for relatively long periods so portable camp chairs are permitted and advisable, particularly if you have physical restrictions making standing uncomfortable. Bring binoculars if you have them, though some will be provided to share. Those not acting in the interests of the Beaver’s welfare will be asked to leave the site. Beavers are wild animals who are disturbed by human intervention and loud noises. With Beavers being a native reintroduced species, the Ealing Beaver Project is excited to share responsible Beaver watching. Where to meet? Search on Google Maps for " Ealing Beaver Project - Walk and Safari meeting point " or follow this link . We meet at the underpass entrance to Paradise Fields inside Westway Cross Retail Park, nearest park entrance next to McDonald's NB – Safaris are strictly over 16s.
