Join the Hawaiʻi Edible Tales Hoʻokupu: Hula Workshop, a free community event based on our popular Edible Tales series. This inclusive workshop, led by the esteemed Kumu Hula Auliʻi Aweau of Nā Wāhine o Laʻakea, welcomes individuals of all movement abilities. No prior hula experience is necessary. Attendees will have the opportunity to review all the hula and mele learned and created from our previous monthly Edible Tales events. Whether you were present at those events or not, you are welcome to join this workshop and learn the mele and hula for the first time. If you were at our very first Edible Tales Hookupu event at Kualoa, please bring your kalaʻau. The workshop will take place at the beautiful Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden in Kaneohe. We will meet at the entry gate at 9:15 and proceed to our location in the park. As this is an outdoor event, please come prepared with items for your personal comfort, such as sunscreen, a refillable water bottle, snacks, a hat or sun protection, and something to sit on. For those interested, there is an opportunity to perform the songs learned at this workshop in our Hōʻike event on November 11th.
