Learn the ancient art of making corn dollies from scratch using traditional materials and techniques with Carol Partridge. Whether you're a seasoned crafter or a curious beginner, you'll leave with several unique pieces of straw art and a new skill under your belt. She is a member of, and the information officer for, the Guild of Straw Craftsmen and is a holder of their Craftsman's Award. She is also a Member of the Basketmakers' Association and the Heritage Crafts Association where corn dolly making is officially listed as at the risk of extinction! Please note: this event is for over 18’s only. The Grade II listed Leas Lift is one of only three water-balanced lifts remaining in the UK. Our restoration work involves bringing the lift back into operation, developing a new upper station area and extending the former cafe. Once complete, the Leas Lift will once again become a tourist destination, as well as hosting exhibitions, community engagement and events at the newly renovated Lower Station. Tribal Gruppe are taking 15 Porsches in convoy, for an 4 day trip to the Breda Holland & Stuttgart, Germany. We leave early on Thursday 29th May on Le Shuttle, and then hit the road. It's around 515 miles to Stuttgart so we are stopping on the way to break the journey, but with a twist ! We will head straight to Breda, Holland for our first night which is approximately 3 hours and approximately 165 miles. Within ten miles of our hotel are are our friends who we will say hello to and pop in for Coffee. Saturday afternoon we leave Stuttgart and head to our hotel in France to break the journey and enjoy a great meal. Sunday - It's time to head home and return by Le Shuttle or your chosen Ferry Route.
