Join us for an awesome night of stand-up comedy at the Royal Canadian Legion! Your lineup of comics: Headliner Laurie Elliot Laurie Elliott is a stand-up comic, Juno nominee, actor, and television writer. She won the Tim Sims Encouragement Fund Award and has been a four-time winner of the Best Female Stand-Up award at The Canadian Comedy Awards. Her stand-up credits include Montreal's Just For Laughs Festival (where the late, great Joan Rivers chose her to perform on her final Gala show), the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, the Comedy Factory in Rotterdam, Raw Comedy Club in Stockholm, the SheDot Comedy Festival in Toronto, and a gala run at the Cape Town International Comedy Festival in South Africa. She has had recurring roles/appearances on MuchMusic’s Video on Trial, CBC's The Red Green Show (where she married Harold!), The Jon Dore Television Show, Match Game, and The Debaters. Laurie's voice can be heard in many animated series, including Total Drama Island, Scaredy Squirrel, and Camp Lakebottom. Laurie was also a regular on WWF star Chris Jericho's award-winning web series, But I'm Chris Jericho. Writing credits include five seasons of the Total Drama Series, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Rocket Monkeys, Camp Lakebottom, Fugget About It, Showcase's Almost Heroes, Disney's My Babysitter's a Vampire, Hulu’s original series Mother Up starring Eva Longoria. Laurie is currently co-showrunning a series for YTV called The Three Amigonauts. Laurie recently opened for the hilarious Arsenio Hall, and he was a delight! Feature Act - Daniel Shaw Winner of Corus Entertainment’s Funniest Canadian, Daniel Shaw has been entertaining audiences across Canada for nearly a decade. Whether performing in comedy clubs, theaters, or festivals, Daniel's disarmingly absurd views on life and parenting keep audiences laughing and slightly concerned. His debut album, "Parental Guidance," is available on all streaming platforms. Having shared the stage with some of Canada’s greatest comedians, including Scott Thompson, Kenny vs. Spenny, and Rick Mercer, Daniel is ready to carve out his own path—or at least find a way to escape his toddler for an evening. Host - Jay Ellis Since starting comedy in 2022, Jay Ellis has quickly climbed the ranks in Central Ontario comedy. He’s featured on shows, including with Yuk Yuk's, from the Bruce Peninsula to Dorset to Toronto and everywhere in between. His observational style has made him a favourite on local comedy shows. Jay has a passion for using comedy for good and has produced several local comedy shows raising thousands for local charities under the banner of Do Something Comedy.
