The belly dance intensive with Rachel Brice, known as the 8 Elements of Belly Dance Phase 1, is a comprehensive training program that focuses on technique, musicality, practice development, and improvisation. This in-person event, hosted at Datura in Portland, Oregon, is open to all dancers who are looking to strengthen their belly dance fundamentals. It is recommended that participants have at least 1 year of dance experience to fully benefit from the practice sessions.

During the intensive, participants will engage in daily classes from Monday to Friday, starting at 10am and ending at 6pm. On Saturday, the final day of the program, there will be a discussion and testing session from 10am to 1pm. For those who are not testing, Saturday events are optional. Additionally, there will be a signing session with Rachel Brice from 4pm to 5pm, followed by a Hafla event from 5pm to 7pm.

Throughout the intensive, participants will have nightly reading and writing homework to further enhance their learning experience. At the end of the program, participants will have the opportunity to take an optional test, which will assess their eligibility for the next phase in the program.
