Join us for a 4 part creative writing series. No prior experience needed! This is all about experimentation and creativity to make 2026 fun. There are four classes as part of this series; the dates and details are as follows: 9th June - Plot development 4th August - Developing drama & creating conflict 6th October - Dialogue & scene setting 8th December - Editing skills Each class individually is £20 so by purchasing the annual pass you get the fourth class for free. 🍷 All classes are held at Sante on Burton Road, from 7.30pm - 9.30pm - a cosy and private space to get into the flow state. ✍️ This series is for anyone who loves creativity, a good story and is looking to create something of their own. Absolutely no prior experience is needed! 📚 The classes will be run by an experienced Literacy Specialist who will guide you through with lots of creative activities to get you warmed up. 📕 A notebook for you to keep is provided, along with stationery - but if you want to use anything of your own, you're more than welcome. 🎲 We'll start with a few games (silliness and creativity very much encouraged!) before putting pen to paper. 📓 By the end of each class, you'll have your own creative writing piece on paper to take home and be proud of... and by the end of the year, you'll have had time to develop your ideas more fully if that's something you're working towards. ✉️ We'll send out some writing prompts after the class too, and on the alternate months, to encourage you to keep up the creative work! 📝 This series also gives you exclusive access to our writing group , where we post weekly writing prompts and you can find a community of support. 💌 If you have any questions then please do get in touch at burton.road.network@gmail.com Information Source: Burton Road Events | eventbrite

Grandparents and grandchildren aged 5–11: enjoy a relaxed craft morning in Didsbury, make memories and meet others. All materials included! End the summer holidays on a high with a relaxed, creative morning designed for grandparents and grandchildren (aged 5–11) in the heart of Didsbury, South Manchester. Held in Sante's beautiful function room, this two-hour craft session is a wonderful chance to make lasting memories with your grandchild - while also enjoying some well-earned adult company, conversation... and perhaps even cake! 🎨 What's included: All craft materials are provided, with plenty of activities suitable for primary school-aged children. There's no experience needed - just come ready to have fun. Jo will be on hand throughout to help with ideas and make sure you have everything you need. ✂️ Crafts & games: As well as creative activities from collaging to card making and beyond, there will also be a range of games on offer and quieter activities such as mindful colouring, so there is something for everyone. 🤗 A chance to connect: This isn't just about crafting. It's a warm, sociable morning where grandparents who support with childcare can meet others in the same boat - and where grandchildren get the chance to make new friends too. You're welcome to purchase a drink on arrival, and the relaxed pace means no one feels rushed. 🥗 After the session: Fancy making a day of it? Sante offers a lovely lunch menu and you're welcome to stay on and eat after the event (not included in the ticket price but a great excuse to treat yourselves!). 👩‍🏫 About Jo: Jo facilitates the event and brings a warm, experienced approach to the morning. She is DBS checked, tutors locally, and has a background in education - most recently as a Literacy Specialist at Didsbury High School. Please note that each adult remains responsible for the child in their care throughout the session. 🚃 Getting here: Didsbury can be tricky for parking, so we'd encourage walking, cycling, or using public transport where possible. There's a bus stop right outside the venue, and Burton Road tram stop is just a 5–10 minute walk away - making it an easy trip from across South Manchester.
