Kōloa Plantation Days | Koloa
Celebration
Koloa Plantation Day is a multi-day festival held annually in July in the towns of Koloa and Poip on the south shore of Kauai. The event commemorates the establishment of Hawaii's first successful sugar plantation in Koloa in 1835 and celebrates the island's plantation-era history and multicultural communities.
During the festival, dozens of events are held in Koloa and Poip. These include the Koloa Plantation Day Parade, an annual park celebration at Anne Knudsen Baseball Stadium (featuring live music, food stalls, and craft stalls), and a family fun run/walk in Poip. In addition, the program typically includes historic walking tours of Koloa's Old Town, plantation-style cooking demonstrations, cultural performances and live Hawaiian music, arts and crafts markets, sporting events, and family activities at various parks and community venues throughout the area.
