Set to take place from April 20 to April 21 in Tombstone City, riders will convene at Tombstone City Hall before embarking on a clockwise journey along the loop. The ride is not suited for beginners due to its rugged terrain and the need to carry sufficient water for the overnight stay. As participants traverse the traditional lands of the Chiricahua Apache, O'odham Jewed, and Hohokam, they will be immersed in a landscape rich with history and significance. The first day will test riders' skills with a demanding 3-mile single-track trail section, while the second day offers a more leisurely 40-mile route back to Tombstone. Campfire Cycling ensures a supportive environment with a no-drop policy and a dedicated mechanic at the rear of the group. He will be presenting lectures and photo presentations at the Courthouse Museum, as well as engaging in two additional opportunities to discuss the Old West. One of the programs, titled "What Made Wyatt Earp Tick?", delves into the personality of Wyatt Earp and explores why he has become a revered figure in American history. Warren reveals the captivating nature of Earp and showcases photographs that document his life. The other program, "Our Favorite Outlaw of the American West: Billy the Kid", sheds light on the lesser-known facts about this infamous figure and the turbulent era in which he thrived. Through this presentation, Warren offers a fresh perspective on the complex nature of history and challenges the dichotomous labeling of individuals as either "bad" or "good". Mark Warren has spent over 60 years researching the American West and has become a respected authority in the field. He has been recognized and honored by prestigious organizations such as the Wild West History Association and the Western Writers of America.
